My dear friend, it appears that you must have opened the 3 lcd screws that are not supposed to be touched, if so then just forget reassembling the same as the convergence would be lost & cannot be manually done
another thing are the polarisers.if excessive dust had accumulated & if you used wrong technique in cleaning then the coating would have come off & you have lost everything , just change the entire lcd block.this costs a bomb.beter to buy a new projector

Acer DLP X1261 has specks all over image. How can I clean it. It seems to be back of the lens.

I just pulled my apart and cleaned all 3 internal lenses and color wheel, totally the same after cleaning, even though you can see heaps of dust in lens I believe the problem is in the DMD chip, I have some on order from alibaba.com and will see if that fixes them, I have. 2 acer x1260 that have both turned approx 10 and 50 dead pixels each

Cannot focus uniformly across the projected screen. This seems to be more than a focus problem in that some areas of the image seem blurry as opposed to out-of-focus. Also, in what may be a related...

try bringing the screen up as close as possible to the projector and still get a focused picture. check keystone here and also for image clarity. if you still have problems, check for dust or moisture etc in the optics. check the lamp for a clean front surface. clean the air filter also. Try a different image source for differences

Projected image is blurry, mostly at the top of half. Weird. Tried another laptop. Although that one was slightly clearer, the top of the image was still blury.

Clean the lens on the front, turn on the projector and wait for it to heat up, then turn the plastic ring on the front to change your focus. computer image can't be made blurry because of software. Blurriness is always something to do with the lens.

Im getting spots projecting on image

Check for dust on the lens. There may also be dust inside the projector on the mirrors, lenses, or LCD. If cleaning the lens on the outside doesn't resolve your problem, I would contact a professional to get the insides cleaned out.

Good Luck!

I have a BenQ W500 with some dark spots in the image. As far as I can tell, the lenses are clean, and I took out the lamp unit to make sure there was no dust or smudging. How can I get rid of the spots?...

if you can focus the lens on them, they're on the optics somewhere. if you cannot, you may need to replace the fly-eye (diffuser) lens. they tend to fry due to excessive dust and heat.

Dull picture

I am having this exact problem with this projector. It has been doing this for over a year now. I am happy to see that I am not the only one. Not happy that you do not seem to have had any suggestions on how to fix it. We have even changed the bulb and the problem still persists.
