Question about Targus Stow-N-Go AKP01US Keypad

2 Answers

I got a Targus Numeric Keypad with HUB. I plugged it into my Macbook and a window came up asking if I wanted to connect it. Since it isn't a full keyboard, I exited out of it. But now, every time I press a number, it makes a the illegal command sound. How can I fix this?

Try holding the NumLock key down before you connect it.
Or, after you connect it as you normally would, hold the numlock key down for 4 seconds or more.
The window that popped up can be closed without worry because it's designed to set up a full keyboard.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Targus Travel USB 2.0 4-port Hub

sometimes usb hard drives will not work through a usb hub.
if the drive works connected to the laptop but not the hub then that's how you'll have to use it.
it's also possible the laptop cannot power both the hub AND the drive, in whaich case you'll need a powered hub (one you plug in to the mains).

maybe it is full of dust on those buttons. Try cleaning it with a duster of mini-brush because it interrupts the function.
