SOURCE: how to fasten heating element to pot

Had a little problem loosening the nut from the heating element, but once I got it off, cleaned all parts , went to an auto supply store and was lucky to find the right size gasket ( it was a part for a Nissan auto ) , used Permatex silicone gasket sealer, put all parts together, tightened the nut real tight, made all electrical connections, tested the pot with water, heated up real fine , no leaks , Problem solved.

Heating Element A defective heating element can make a dryer too hot. If the element partially shorts out, it can produce heat all the time, regardless of whether the dryer is calling for heat. Remove the heating element to inspect it. The coils should not be touching each other or anything else.

Heating Element Assembly A defective heating element assembly can make a dryer too hot. If the element partially shorts out, it can produce heat all the time, regardless of whether the dryer is calling for heat. Remove the heating element assembly to inspect it. The coils should not be touching each other or anything else.

Air Flow Problem Dryers need good ventilation to work properly. If the vent is clogged it can make the dryer too hot. Clean all of the vent tubing thoroughly.
Cycling Thermostat Although not common, a defective cycling thermostat can make the dryer too hot. The cycling thermostat is supposed to turn on and off the heat to maintain the proper temperature. If the thermostat is defective it may keep the heat on too long. The thermostat is not adjustable or repairable, it must be replaced.

Felt Seal Most dryers have a felt seal at the front and rear of the drum to keep the heat inside the drum. If the felt seal is worn away or missing, the dryer may keep heating and make the dryer too hot. This is not common.

Blower Wheel A defective blower wheel will not spin properly and will not vent the hot air, making the dryer too hot. Check to see if there is adequate airflow out of the dryer.

I'd check the control switch first, and the wireing and connections.

Oven will not heat up.

If the oven won't heat, did you check both the bake and broil element? If both are not working correctly you are going to have a control board issue most likely. If only one works, then the other should just have to be replaced.

On our AE125, the thermal cut-off is tripping AFTER the water is turned off. The heating element is getting so hot you cannot touch it

The elements are getting over heated then set temperature. You have a defective thermostat. The elements will continue to heat until they reach the set point of the thermostat. Try to lower the temp setting first. If that does not fix it, you'll need to repalce the thermostat, located very near the element, under the screwed cover on the side of the tank.------------- To know how this heater works, read as follows:---

Because electric tankless water heaters have to instantaneously raise the temperature of incoming water to a selected hot water temperature, they require very powerful heating elements. To power the heating elements of this 27,000 Watt model, you will need to upgrade the electrical service you were using for your storage tank water heater. The PowerStar AE125 will require a 240V, 200 Amp service. In addition you will need to install three 40 amp dedicated double pole breakers in your electrical box. In Canada, you will require one 120 Amp breaker.

The PowerStar AE125 electric tankless water heater incorporates a very sensitive flow sensor, and three heating elements. The heat from the electric elements is electronically modulated on the basis of the flow rate of the water entering the water heater, and the temperature rise that the water heater must achieve. Through its electronic modulation system, the AE125 maintains a very precise hot water temperature. As a safety precaution, each of the three heating modules is protected by an electro-mechanical thermal cut-out. This device will cut power to a particular module if the temperature gets too hot.

This will help.Thanks.Helpmech.

Oven not heating

If oven has more than one heating elemet the problem would appear to be faulty oven heat control as not common for two elements to open circuit simultaneously. If the oven has one heating element in modern ovens the element is normally removeable plug in type.
Get someone with electrical knowledge to check whether element is open circuied with a multimeter and confirm line voltage between the element contact points if not found to be opencircuited

You should check to see if the "high limit switch is burned out. Some models/Brands have 2. It should be on the outside casing of the heating element.

Fridge freezer problem

you can take the panel off the evaporator. (where the fan is in the freezer) locate the heating element and if it is a element made of same material as the your elemet in your oven then you can get a small gage of bailing wire and wrap it around the element five or six times and put the other end down the drain a ways. this should conduct the heat down the drain and prevent freezing of the drain the the backing up of drain water.
