Question about Car Audio & Video
My 97 thunderbird has a kenwood kedc-mp238/cr installed as the head unit, suddenly girl friend claims she used the src button and now i no matter what i do no sound from the speakers, but the subs work perfectly still. ive reset the unit and have removed power from the vehicle for over 30 min and still no sound from oem placement of kicker speakers. the mtx subs and mtx amp work perfectly. what ever i try i cant get the speakers to work.

SOURCE: No Sound - boat stereo
Assuming that the four speakers are connected to the amplifier, then the amp is the most likely problem component. Does the amplifier show a power light when the system is turned on? Note that there is probably another fuse in the amplifier power wire, near the battery.

I assume the amp is turning on (lighting up) No audio may be due to Burnt rca ground trace in your kenwood radio. If you have a ohm meter measure continuity from rca's ground terminal to radio chassis. Should be close to zero resistance. If there is no no continuity there are fusible traces on radios main board that burn open at times when to much current is flowing thru rca ground
Just a good possibility , haver seen this happedmany times.

Its becuase the aux is turned off as default so you have to activate it.
Put the unit into standby mode
Press menu for at least a second untill menu appears and then select the aux option and edit it to either aux on1 or aux on2 or aux off.
Anyproblems and you can download the pdf for free from internet
