Question about Maytag Neptune MAH5500B Front Load Washer

1 Answer

Maytag washer Mod. No. MAH3000AWW doesn't spin and remove water from clothes. I can see that the spin enable switch is defective as it has no lever showing to make contact with door. How do I get to that switch?

My washer is quite noisy when it spins to rinse. Do you think I have a bad bearing?

I have the MAH3000AWW and the same thing just happened to me.  I had a repair man come out that said it is probably the motor and circuit board.  If this is the case, is it worth fixing.  I bought it in early 1997.

It won't go to full spin.  I had a repair man out that said it is probably the motor and circuit board.  Is it worth fixing if that is the case?  Does that sound reasonable?  I bought it in early 1997.  I have also always had the mold problem but didn't know it was something I should have complained about.

Why is my maytag Neptune Model no# MAH5500AWW spinning very slow and not draining water out?

Complete drain must occur before spin. A no drain situation would be an actual full pool of water seen in the bottom of the machine if all the cloths were removed, sounds like you are experiencing a spin enable switch failure, which mainly prevents final high speed spin leaving the cloths dripping wet. The spin enable switch contacts become tarnished/corroded over time resulting in poor connection. If the door lock light comes on than your door lock wax motor is working. The spin enable switch is the last switch to the right in the door lock unit where the light bulb is. Part# is 22002162. If there is an actual pool of water in the bottom of the machine as if you simply removed the cloths from the unit but left the wash water, than you should look first look to your drain pump for failure, or obstruction of foreign objects, or excess lint in the pump. MAH3000AWW FILLS WITH WATER ON WASH CYCLE BUT DOES NOT SHUT THE WATER OFF WHEN IT GETS FULL AND THEN LEAKS ON THE FLOOR. IT IS ONLY THE HOT WATER.

A defect in the water-inlet valve may mean that it's no longer able to shut off completely when the electricity has been turned off to it. If this occurs, the valve may leak and drip water into the clothes tub. In time, the water may accumulate substantially. If this happens, you need to replace the valve. A defect--or an obstruction--in the water-level switch may mean that it can't tell the water to shut off. So the machine overflows. This switch senses the water level in the clothes tub. It's usually a diaphragm device with a small, clear tube attached between the switch and the bottom of the washer's outer tub. As the water level in the tub increases, the pressure on the air in the tube increases. When the pressure reaches a certain level, it activates the switch, shuts off the water, and signals the timer to begin the agitate cycle. You can either clear any obstruction in the tube or replace the water-level switch.

Model#mah3000aww won't go into spin cycle...checked belt and its good.it rinses clothes but does not speed up when draining or go into high speed

take off the panel above the door, there is a micro switch next to the light put meter on switch and read it out,use a screw driver and push on switch while your checking for continuity,if that switch checks ok change out the enersia switch, take off just the right side of the boot and remove right side white cover and you can reach this switch

MAH3000AWW Does not spin fast enough on spin cycle Clothes are still full of water when done.

hi there ..sounds like your appliance is not spinning at all........(a) check if your drain pump is working correctly..(simply fill water and turn to drain)..(b) possiblity that the clutch drive mechanism is badly worn and needs replaced

No water

From what you've described, the problem may be a defective "door safety switch".

The purpose of the lid/door switch is to prevent injury when attempting to remove clothing articles when in the fast "spin-cycle" motion. I believe some models are now preventing the washer from working at all until repaired "mo money, mo faster!" ;)

I would access and test the lid/door switch for continuity; if defective, replace. Whats' the model # of your washer?

Maytag Neptune Max Extract Quit Working

More information about the problem is needed...there are two levels of spinning..."regular" and "Max Extract" The Max setting spins the tub much faster. If you are having trouble with really wet clothes being left in the washer...haven't really been spun at all...this might have a couple of solutions. First, check the "out of balance" switch (a little plastic square with two green wires attached) located at the base of the tub on the front on my stacked unit. Because of the vibration in the tub, the wires on mine have broken twice.right at the switch. The other possibility is the main circuit board. Check out the internet for solutions/replacements.
My washer's Max setting is not working...and I don't know the reason for this...any help? Thanks...
