BIOS setup keystrokes
The first item is the key or key combination. The second is the model of PC or the maker of the BIOS. You'll see some companies listed many times, with different keystrokes. That's normal. (It's not that manufacturers can't make up their minds. It's just that they change suppliers and use different BIOS setups.)
Delete: AMI or Award BIOS.
Esc: Toshiba
F1: Toshiba; Phoenix; some IBM PS/1 models.
F10: Compaq.
F2: NEC.
Insert: IBM PS/2.
Tab: eMachines.
Reset button (press twice): Some old Dells.
Ctrl-Alt-+: Various computers.
Ctrl-Alt-?: Some old IBM PS/2 models.
Ctrl-Alt-Enter: Some Dells, others.
Ctrl-Alt-Esc: AST, Tandon, others.
Ctrl-Alt-Ins: Zenith PCs, Phoenix BIOS.
Ctrl-Alt-S: Phoenix BIOS.
Ctrl-Alt-Shift with Del (on number pad): Olivetti.
Ctrl-Esc: Many PCs.
Ctrl-Ins: Some IBM PS/2s.
Ctrl-S: Phoenix BIOS.
Ctrl-Shift-Esc: Tandon

Need wiring connection diagram for Power Switch to Motherboard for EMachine W2925 model. Wires were disconected accidentally while cleaning inside of tower

micha219, the eMachines W2925 desktop computer uses an FIC motherboard.
First International Computer { Inc }
The Model Number of the FIC motherboard is VC37.
FIC VC37.

Disregard the following if you are aware:
The plastic front of your computer is the Front Panel.
The area on the Motherboard that the cables (Wires) from the Front Panel connect to, is the Front Panel header.

Processor to the Top, Ram Memory slots to the Right, the Front panel header is in the Bottom Right corner.

It is a rectangular shape with two columns of pins.
The length goes up, and down on the motherboard.

The pins on the Right side of the Front Panel header are numbered Odd.
The pins on the Left side of the Front Panel header are numbered Even.

There are 4 pins on the Left side.
There are 5 pins on the Right side.

Starting at the Bottom on the Right side going Up;
Pins 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9.

Starting at the Bottom on the Left side going Up;
Pins 2, 4, 6, and 8.

A) Pins 2 and 4 are for the Power On LED light.
(If after connecting the LED light is dim, reverse the wires)

B) Pins 6 and 8 are for the Power On switch. (Power On button)

C) Pins 1 and 3 are for the HarDDrive Activity LED light.

D) Pins 5 and 7 are for the Reset switch. (Reset button. IF used)

Pin 9 is NC. Not connected

I have a emachine w2925 and when I tune it on. It just beeps and will not boot up

If you have the manual, the specific sequence of beeps might tell you what the problem is. Beep codes vary by bios and manufacturer so I couldn't tell you what they mean without a maual for your specific model. Anyway, the 3 most common reasons are bad or loose memory or bad video, or bad power supply. You can try removing the power cord from the pc and open it up and reseat the memory but the other problems, you'll probably need a tech to look at to verify the exact fault.

Emachine locks on windows splash screen

Try flashing the Bios, if this does not work you may have a processor problem or a problem with the operations of the northbridge or southbridge not functioning correctly causing the freeze problem.The only repair for this type of problem is to replace the motherboard. If the computer is over three or four years old this may be the situation. You should check the condition of all the processors before giving up on the board.Try removing the heatsinks and reapplying the thermal paste. Make sure to clean all dust and debris form the processors. Make sure all the heatsinks are making good contact with their processors. Be sure to clean all dust and debris form the inside of the case and under the motherboard. Check all the screws and standoffs, Just or make sure you are not having shorting problems between the motherboard and case. Hope this helps you with your problem.

When you first start the computer press the f 8,(that is the key most use to get into the bios). Set everthing to the default except the drive sequence which you want the cd first. If I am not correct,then  go to the support webpage and downlad the manual.

or download it directly here

The cable from your monitor must connect to the Monitor port (middle and right on picture). Be CAREFULL not to force the connection. The cable only fits one way and you can damage the pins if you force it. If it won't plug in easily, then rotate the plug 180 degrees and try again.

If your connection seems inadequate, you may have bent one of the pins. If you suspect a bent pin, look into the end of the connector on the cable to see if one or more of the gold colored pins are bent. You can straighten the pins yourself with a needle-nosed pliers or a small blade screw driver use gently, otherwise try to get a replacement monitor cable.
