SOURCE: dell laser mfp 1815 dn "scanner locked" message

When you lift the scanner lid look to the left bottom. you should see a green slider button. If you stick your hand in the output tray and get it rigth under the green slider you will find a lever. Move that thing backwards or forwards, that is your unlocker.

Where do I plug in the cable from my Brother DCP130 PRINTER into my PC.

Using both hands, use the plastic tabs on both sides of the machine to lift the scanner cover until it locks securely into the open position.

Insert the USB cable into the USB socket marked with a symbol. You will find the USB socket inside the machine on the right.

Carefully route the USB cable through the trench and out the back of the machine.

Lift the scanner cover to release the lock. Gently push the scanner cover support down and close the scanner cover.

Turn on the machine by connecting the power cord.

Thanks, my HP LaserJet 9000MFP is requesting for cable check it say check cables. check scanner lock. cycle power

This error is an indication that the system is unable to move the scanner. This usually happens on new units when someone forgets to unlock the scanner before switching machine. If the printer has worked up till not and just started doing it then there is a good chance that the scanner has failed and will require service. If you just moved the machine then check the scanner locks and make sure the cabling is all connected.

I keep getting error U043 even tho I know that the ink cartridge is missing. However, I only need to use the scanner and am unable to get to the home menu because the error message won't go away. How...

Got a reply from Canon support as below.

During Boot Sequence of the machine, one of the checks performed by the machine is presence of Ink/toner Cartridge and the minimum quantity available in it to start up.

When the machine fails to get the signal of Ink availability, it stops the Initialization Process and an error code is displayed

Since the machine is an ALL-IN-ONE, it cannot perform any of its function, had it been exclusive Scanner the Boot Sequence would have been different.

Dell MFCP 3115cn Error Message

From what I have read, it has to do with the scanner arm is jammed or locked. You may be able to toggle the plastic slider above the scanner glass near the hinge from the locked position. That didn't work in my case, but if you tear the scanner down, you may be able to free it. Otherwise a new scanner portion may be required.

Scanner locked

Is the scanner latch in the down position. Would be on the right side of the machine.
Take the covers back off and disconnect and reconnect all the connectors again. The ribbon cables can be fickle and take 2 or 3 attempts to get seated properly.
May need to take the scanner back off, reconnect everything and make sure nothing is caught or binding.
Make sure you didn't somehow leave one connector unplugged, slipped behind something.
And during reassembly. You may have caught one of the harnesses or cables and damaged them. those on the right side looking from behind.
