SOURCE: I'm trying to set the times on a paragon amf 7 day timer

There should be 2 trippers for each day, the trippers slide on the outside of the dial and would point to the time of day you want your lights on and off. The silver trippers may be gone on that aged time clock, but are easily obtainable.

SOURCE: I need trippers for an

I don't recognize Paragon TC-2.
http://waterheatertimer.org/Paragon-timers-and-manuals.html

Intermatic cross reference does not have that model number either.
http://www.intermatic.com/customer%20service/competitive%20cross%20reference.aspx

Paragon sent e-mail last month saying they were no longer making timers and parts, except for defrost timers. Your water heater timer is not defrost timer.

Here is a wide selection of water heater timers, electro-mechanical and digital:
http://waterheatertimer.org/Boxtype.html
Manuals and wiring diagrams are shown for most products on page.

I recommend simple 240Volt Intermatic WH-40 for price and reliability. Drawback is minimum 1 hour on-off.
Or Intermatic T-101 for 120Volt heater or T-104 for 240Volt heaters sold at Lowes.
Intermatic trippers and motors are available and interchangeable, and are made of steel.

Some new timers are made with plastic parts:
GE 15207 is universal 120V 240V and sold at Home Depot.
Tork has new universal electro-mechanical timer, TU-40 for 120 and 240 applications

I use GE 15070 in-wall timer from Home Depot for my water heater because I change times frequently and try to shave every dollar:

Paragon no longer makes timers, except for commercial defrost series.
There is a cheap knock-off that looks like the old 4001, but I cannot find seller any longer and do not recommend.

Instead, order 120Volt Intermatic T101 timer to replace Paragon 4001.
Or order T101R for indoor-outdoor weather-tight enclosure
http://waterheatertimer.org/Paragon-timers-and-manuals.html#Paragon4000

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00002N5FN/?tag=waterheaterti-20
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000BVZB3E/?tag=waterheaterti-20

Paragon 4001 terminals are 1-2-3

Intermatic T101 terminals A-1-2
Paragon terminal 1 Hot goes to Intermatic terminal 1
Paragon terminal 2 Load goes to Intermatic terminal 2
Paragon terminal 3 Neutral goes to Intermatic terminal A

Intermatic makes replacement clock motors and trippers for T100 series, so this timer will last decades.

Tork also makes a line of mecanical timers sold through home depot under GE brand name:
http://waterheatertimer.org/GE-timers-and-manuals.html#15145
These are also good timers, but lighter construction than Intermatic T101.

Moved time pointer on pool timer to set time than read instructions moved pointer back to original spot now timer does not click on or off when it passes pins

Timer brand and model number are not shown.
Brand and model appear on inside of timer door.

Moving stationary pointer will not affect on-off operation of timer. The pointer is just reference for setting current time.
Worn trippers can cause problem.
Trippers are softer metal and designed to wear down so timer mechanism lasts for decades.

Intermatic pool timers use set of 156T1978A trippers.

Tork timers use P47 tripper on 24-hour clock dial
http://www.frontierlighting.com/find.jsp?a=1&ID=,Photo.Cells...Time.Controls,Replacement.Trippers
Paragon 4000 series uses X2772 tripper. Paragon timers are discontinued and trippers hard to find.

1) Paragon is no longer making timers and parts except defrost timers.
You posted under JW-30-00 series cycle timer, which is not a defrost timer.
http://waterheatertimer.org/Paragon-timers-and-manuals.html#JW

2) JW timers are still sold on internet. Some Paragon timers are still being sold, and other manufacturers will continue making various Paragon products under new names.

3) Intermatic cross reference shows CT1000 is replacement for JW-30-20

The 120 volt power for the timer motor has two terminals. One if labled M the other is labled T. Which one is the hot and which one is the neutral? Thanks

There are a lot of timers out there.
Add a comment with brand and model number to give us a shot at finding the information.

You posted under paragon 7008-00 timer
7008 is 120V timer with 120V clock motor
Power lines connect to Terminals A and B

Going through Paragon timers, I don't see terminals M and T
http://waterheatertimer.org/Paragon-timers-and-manuals.html

Looking at Tork timers, I dont see terminals M and T:
http://waterheatertimer.org/Tork-timers-and-manuals.html

Looking at GE timers, I don't see M and T
http://waterheatertimer.org/How-to-wire-GE-15207-timer.html

Woods timers, Sylavania timers don't have M and T

Intermatic makes more timers than I can go through in one night, but I don't recall M and T terminals.

Replacement timer motor needed

If you have Intermatic timer, then clock motors are available for most hard-wire box-type timers. Most pool and spa timer modules are available or have same/similar replacements. If you have plug-in timer, including power pack or portable outdoor timer or indoor plug-in or in-wall timer, then no clock motors are available.
http://waterheatertimer.org/Intermatic-trippers-and-parts.html

If you have Tork timer, then clock motor is available for 1100 series.
http://waterheatertimer.org/Tork-timers-and-manuals.html
If you have Paragon timer, clock motors will be hard to find
http://waterheatertimer.org/Paragon-timers-and-manuals.html
If you have other brands of timer, then clock motors are not available except Deihl, DIGI and Grasslin timer modules, but post brand and model number of timer so I can search my files.
