Question about Epson ACULASER CX11NF All-In-One Printer

1 Answer

Whenever I print (noticed on color copies) there is a small streak about 1/3rd into page. It streaks the ink, total about 1/2 in long. Does this just need cleaning? If so how do I do that?

Same marks or image on all the prints each time you print is Photoconductor units mistake.normally the photo rod is so clean that only the image by laser is transfered to the page but some case when photo rod is dirty or permanently marked it transfers that image of mark every time you print. It is not adviced to touch that photo rod but in this case one should have to rather buying new one.You may remove the photo unit and clean is very gently without any scratch or it will be permanent for the rest of phot unit life.A little damp non scratching cloth might do the job.you have to look for the mark in very moderate light by examining/focusing on the top layer of photo rod from side to side.be careful in rolling the rod as unused tonner will come on it from the waste chambers as well and you have to deal with this aswell.

When printing, I have a streak of ink along the page. What can I do to clean out that streak?

Printing or copying?:
Step 1: Only on Printing:Check with another cartridge,
Check Teflons sleeve(Grey colored Teflon coated film an internal part of fuser assm) got damaged? replace it if not available replace fuser assm.
Step 2: Only on copying: Check through ADF or flat bed?
Clean flat bed glasses(Bigger one and smaller one)
User's can perform step 2, where as step 1 only professionals can do.

When I make copies or transmit a fax, it makes a 3/4" black line down the left side. I have cleaned ink cartridges and contacts but does not help.

The line is probably not from the ink cartridges or nozzles (assuming regular printing doesn't streak). Streaks on copies and transmitted faxes are usually due to dirt or problems on the scanner unit. First clean the flat bed of the scanne. If you have an automatic document feeder, clean that.

Clean with a lint free cloth moistened with a little water or glass cleaner. Make sure no foreign objects are in the ADF path or on the glass. For pictures see the Lexmark support site: http://support.lexmark.com/index?page=product&linkSelected=node0&locale=EN&userlocale=EN_US#1. Then enter "streak on copy" - the solution comes up in a pop up.

If the streak is shrinking, then copy a blank white piece of paper to identify where to clean further. Try scanning another page with a small mark on it. (These are particularly helpful for cleaning the ADF.)

If the mark occurs when you print, then check if you have a damaged cartridge or other ink that has spilled inside the printer.

I hope this helps.

Copies come out with gray streaks all the way through the entire page

if you are copying through the feeder check the small glass under the lid has not got any typex or ink stuck to it you check by placing a copy on the glass under the lid and do a copy here.. if no streaks apear then check the glass area.. also if you are printing to it and no streaks appear this area is the cause.. if it happens on teh print side too then you have a drum /dev wear issue and it may need replacing.

My Ricoh 3500 color printer no longer is printing in color--just greys. It does not seem to be a problem with the color cartridges. Also, it streaks from left to right across a page from light to lighter...

The streaking could be anything internal to the printer, such as the transfer belt or a drum unit. As for the lack of color, that sounds like it is a setting in the print driver that got changed from printing in color to printing in monochrome or grayscale. Look through your print driver settings to see if you can locate this setting and change it back to color. Also, once you print in color again you may notice that the streaking is a specific color, which will help to troubleshoot that issue.

Xerox Phaser 8560, produces cyan colored streaks whenever this ink is used. No other colors produce streaks.

You are probably using "Media Sciences" ink sticks (Non-Xerox).

This means the printheads jets are clogged, and the printhead needs replacing.

Media Sciences released a defective lot of cyan ink sticks.

They are currently replacing printheads (at their cost) if you call them.

You need to check your glass first to make sure it has no scratches. Then you can run a copy and open door to stop paper in the center of the machine, b4 it goes through fuser. If line is on copy, you have a bad drum. If not your upper fuser roller is bad.
