Hi jpjaxx731

Check your printer queue. It probably has something in it. Cancel all print jobs, and then try printing something. You can do this by going into the Printers and Faxes and right clicking on your printer and clicking on cancel print jobs.

If this doesn't work, try to restart the computer and printer. If that fails, then uninstall the printer and reinstall it. If that doesn't work, let me know.

Check to make sure the printer is set as default, In control panel then click on printers. If it is not set as default right click the printer icon and click set as default.

I have a 8250 Photosmart printer , it was working fine until 3 days ago, noticed more reddish black where there should be black. Cartridges showing good, waht could be my problem?

Sometimes the cartridge will show "good" when they actually need to be replaced. Try printing a test page, cleaning the ink nozzles, and if the problem persists, replace the ink cartridges.

Question re: test page

i have this printer, what you have to do is when you power it up, wait and listen until the printer grabs the paper to do the test print, then quickly press the CANCEL button once, the paper will pass through the printer but not print, then just put the paper back in the feed tray and start your day with a smile. The cancel button is on the left hand side underneath the power button. The printer prints a test page when you change ink cartridge as well by the way.

Black doesn't work on HP psc 1350 printer

Printer unplugged from power, and USB cable unplugged from computer. Open the printer again, and take all of the ink cartridges out. You may want to don a pair of dishwashing gloves, (or something similar), to keep any chance of ink getting on your fingers.

Use a clean, lint-free, cloth, and soak it in as hot a water as you can stand, then wring it out until it's damp.
Wipe the area of the inkjet ports on the body of the printer.
To explain where these tiny ports are located, let's go back to the ink cartridge itself.
Before you installed the ink cartridge, you had to remove a piece of cellophane tape, or aluminum foil.
This area on the ink cartridge, is where it's inkjet ports are located.
Where these inkjet ports are on the ink cartridge, and where they line up on the printer body, is where the corresponding inkjet ports are on the body of the printer.

I'm suggesting, that ink has dried in these inkjet ports for the black ink cartridge. The warm water cloth will help dissolve this ink, and clear the inkjets on the printer body.
I would wipe in one direction only, and turn the cloth to a clean area, as the dried ink builds up on it. When hardly any ink is present on the cloth, I would then use a hair dryer set to low. Move the hair dryer constantly, and do not hold it in one place.

You want this are dry before you reinstall the ink cartridge. Once you are satisfied it is dry, reinstall the ink cartridges, close the printer.
Plug the printer back into power. (Dry hands!)
Plug the USB cable back into the computer. Wait until the printer has rest itself back up, then turn press the Power On button.
(Some printers rest themselves when they are plugged back into power, some rest themselves only when the Power On button is pushed)

I would align the heads, and print out a test sheet.
You may have to go to Diagnostics, and have the printer check itself. (Start>HP>Photosmart>Help,
will guide you to the Diagnostics section)

Printer reads out "Print Cartridge problem (Tri Color) Refer to device documentation to trouble shoot" I purchased this HP Officejet J4550 All-in-one unit new and haven't made any color pictures with it....

I discovered on mine, exact same problem, I opened the tray, removed the cartridge, and forced it back in hard and fast. It didn't work the first 12 times but after that, it got a solid connection and it worked. Works fine now. Anyway that's the problem and the problem isn't the cartridge (genuine hp cart here). The problem is on the printer side, the pins that hit the cartridge. Anyway get rough with it, slam it in and out, close the tray, if it doesn't work within 5 seconds, open the tray and do it again. It WILL work.

Hp officejet 6110 not printing with black ink

Hi lilacky-

Here are some HP support links that might be helpful... and a couple questions to consider.

Q: Is your new cartridge one of these listed below?
"The HP Officejet 6100 series and HP Digital Copier Printer 410 products use the print cartridges listed below:
* HP 56 black print cartridge
* HP 57 tri-color print cartridge
* HP 58 photo cartridge (replaces the HP 56 black print cartridge for six-ink photo printing)" info from: Installing a Print Cartridge

Has your cartridge been sitting a while in the box, maybe in a warm spot? Some times even new cartridges dry out a little. Was your old cartridge low or completely gone? Just as a test, if you put it back in your printer does the old cartridge work? Any printer error messages? Can you print a test page or an alignment page for your black cartridge? These might be too many questions but here are some HP support links with some How To information for getting more answers. Please let me know if any of these are helpful. see also: Slow or No Response from Printer

HP Photosmart C3100 series

I just got off the HP help line.  After changing my black ink cartridge a test page was printing each time I turned the machine on.  This is very costly, in both time and ink as the cartridges themselves for this machine hold very little ink.  I tried to learn from HP tech how to turn off the test-print while keeping my color cartridge empty.  It turns out that you cant do it.  HP requires you to keep buying and using cartridges whether you need them or not.If you buy the color ink it will use it up in its testings.  And if you dont buy the color cartridge it will use up your black ink by printing the test each time you turn on the printer.  The printer was inexpensive sure, but I'm paying for it in wasted ink.

Help

Hello,

Me is Vikram Kumar Thumu, I have seen your message on the  issue related to the HP Deskjet 5150 Printer. I would like to provide my suggestions on this issue.

The issue could be happen due to following below reasons:

1. If you are using wrong ink cartridge for the Printer.

2. If you are using a refilled ink cartridge

3. If there is an issue with fault with ink cartridge or an issue with ink cartridge slot in the Printer.

4. If there is an issue with Hardware malfunction of Printer.

Well, to resolve the issue I recommend you to try below solutions.

Note **: Your Printer supports below ink cartridges:

Cartridge Part number Black HP 56 (C6656A) Tri-color HP 57 (C6657A) Photo cartridge (optional) HP 58 (C6658A)

Check whether you can installed correct ink cartridges for the Printer or not.

Solution 1: To Hard Reset Printer once.

------------------------------------------------------------

Make sure that Printer is disconnected from the computer.

1. Turn ON the Printer.

2. Raise the top access door of Printer. The carriage assembly should move    towards center of the printer.
Note: for some printers carriage will not move to center.

3. Remove both ink cartridges from Printer.

4. Power OFF printer by pressing the power button of the Printer.

5. Disconnect the power cord from wall outlet and Printer cable (USB or Parallel) from the back of the Printer.

6. Let the Printer remain disconnected for at least 60 seconds.

7. Reconnect power cord and Printer cable (USB or parallel) at back of end Printer.

8. Turn ON the printer.

9. Reinstall both ink cartridges into Printer, make sure that they lock into position and installed in correct ink cartridge slots.

10. Close the top access door firmly.

once if you are done with steps, check the issue. If the issue still persists then please go ahead with next solution.

Solution 2: To Clean the ink cartridges and Cartridge slot in the Printer

Please open below web link.

Link is:

Once if you have opened the web link, please perform the steps that are mentioned in the web page for cleaning ink cartridges and also steps for cleaning ink cartridge slot assembly in the Printer.

I hope that this should resolve the issue. However, if the issue still persists then please go ahead with next solution 3

Solution 3: Testing the ink cartridges of the Printer

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

To isolate the issue by testing the Printer Hardware functionality with " Reserve mode printing " ( this is also called as 'Back up mode'). This is referred as using the Printer with only single ink cartridge. Your Printer model supports for this feature.

Steps are :

1. Open top access cover of Printer and remove the Black ink cartridge from Printer ,make sure that Printer is installed with Color ink cartridge only . Then close the top access cover firmly. Please turn off Printer and Wait for 30 seconds and then turn ON Printer. Check the status of blinking lights on the Printer. If you do not see any blinking lights on the Printer front panel, then cartridge is fine. We can now go ahead with testing Cartridge functionality along with Hardware test of Printer.

Please do these below steps to test Cartridge and hardware of Printer:

1. Turn the printer on.
2. Press and hold the POWER button until step 4.
3. Press the RESUME button four times.
4. Release the POWER button.

This should print a self test page. If you see any information printed on the page, then it confirm that Printer and cartridge is fine else if there is no information printed on the page then it confirms that Cartidge is Out of ink.

Note: you may receive a error code on the test page, please do not worry about that.

Please do below steps similarly to check the issue with Color ink cartridge..

Open top access cover of Printer and remove the Color ink cartridge from Printer ,make sure that Printer is installed with Black ink cartridge only .

I hope this should resolve the issue. If the issue still persists then you may need to service the Printer once.

If you any issues related to the Printer further you can mail me at thumuvikram@rediffmail.com. I will be glad to help you.
