The fault is with its main board. Contact any service technician, or the authorized service center for Mitsubishi. I can't predict about how much you have to spend. It will depend upon the fault, and the sost of component/s have to be replaced.
Anyway, be sure, this is not an easy work, for a user to do. Gopakumar Gopalan Google
I am not very sure about the compatibility but If the connection cords are matching you can go forward to try this out. Remove the short inthenew unit before you install using a good anti static soldering iron. Usually there will be a compatabily list on the new spare for the older models but if mountings and pins seems Ok you can go forward and replace provided there is no alternative to get the original. Nowadays due to high cost and low quality replacement parts, it becomes necessary to review ourselves to think if buying a new DVD will be cheaper with a warranty. Just my thought. Wish you do it right. Good day
The first thing when spilling drink on your electronics is to remove ALL power.
Then wash the circuits with DISTILLED, de-ioniozed water till all traces of the spillage is gone. Next driop dry with one corner down and finally let dry a few days.
The only damage the spillage usually can do is electrolysis from the power source. Circuit boards are washed with water during manufacturing. Use DE_IONIZED !!!
the lcd likely has a burned out backlight. This issimilar to a tube light found in offices etc. Repair or replacement are the options, with the relacement option being easier. The backlight can be replaced, the actual bulb is less tan $20 , bu the labor is intensive and requires an expert. The next option is to buy a complete lcd from ebay, or even the whole top assembly from ebay and just swap out the whole top section.
There are service providers that can replair the backlight. look on craigslist, and ebay for these services. Expect to pay $200 for a repair.
