Question about Brother MFC-8660DN 5-in-1 Laser Multifunctional Printer

1 Answer

8660DN Won't Print on Network (sometimes)

On my Broter 8660dn, It printedfine for about a week. Now it prints when it wants to. I send a document to the printer and everything on the computer looks fine but it never prints.

Yesterdat I sent 2 documents to the print, one after the other. The first one printed and the second didn't.

Can anyone give me an idea what I can do to fix the problem?

If remove it fron the network and conected it to a usb port, and shared on the network, would it work?

Sometimes it'll print, sometimes it won't! Changed the cable, so far ok but still tells me it's out of paper when the tray is full. I can print from the manual feed but not from the tray!

Normal 0 Driver could be corrupt.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud

Press MENU and then the 0 (Zero) key. That will take you to the Initial Setup menu, where you set name. phone number, etc.

Problems printing to Brother MFC 8660DN printer

Pull the paper tray, likley a small black lever to the left of the roller called the edge actuator is dislodged and hanging down. When in position the actuator should easily push up and appear flat next to the roller.

I have a Brother MFC-8660DN. When I receive a fax

That type of problem comes from either the drum or the fuser, the best way to check is to unplug the machine while it's printing and see of the shadow is on the paper before the fuser, if it is then you need a new drum, if not the fuser is the culprit.

Black Vertical line on copies using MFC-8660DN

Vertical lines mean it is being caused by one of the rollers within the printer. This is usually either the toner cartridge or the fuser assembly. I would try changing out the toner cartridge first even if it is new as sometimes they are DOA and they are much cheaper than the fuser assemblies. If that doesn't work, probably the fuser assembly.

OCR problems for Brother MFC-8660DN with Vista 64bit

You are correct in that paperport 9 will not work on Vista and paperport 11 is the alternative. I called about a similar model and the guy at Brother told me that paperport 11 is included on an updated cd from brothermall.com for some models. It was only about $3 so you might want to check for your model. Hope this helps.
