Hi let me which operating system you are using. if its xp only thing you can try is try logging to safe mode. then go to control panel and you can see your username and you can change the password there.
If its vista you can go to advanced boot options by pressing F8 during system setup or when u see the dell logo. select repair your computer, try login with your previous user name and let me know otherwise we can do other steps if its vista. if its xp and then trying the safe mode does not work then you will have to reinstall windows.
