We need to trouble shoot this parts by parts, first to check is form power supply section, hang first the h. out transistor and b+ con. to fly back transformer to be sure no burning parts when testing, if b+ v. normal proceed checking horizontal section of course check that h. out transistor good. and trace again.

My 50" LCD TV makes a popping sound when it is first turned on. It is about 6 months old. It has done it when it was storming. But the weather is beautiful and it started popping when we first turned...

Hello
A poping sound will be there for most of the TVs when it is switched ON, using its power ON/OFF switch at its front panel. There will be no such sound when you power On it by using its remote control. If it pops up still when you poower it ON using remote control, the set need service. As it is new, it will have warranty. just contact the dealer whom you bought the tV. company must repair it for free.

4 year old 50PC1DRA LG Plasma tv. TV would come on after several tries, now will not turn on at all. Just clicks. From what I read here, could be power supple? Is a 4 year old TV worth putting that...

It's the capacitors on the power supply, it's a common problem, either buy a capacitor repair kit (yes they make them) and have a TV tech solder them on, or buy a new power supply board (about $200) and remove and replace it yourself (it's that easy)

Their was a blackout in my neighborhood. The next day in the morning i tried to turn on my 50inch HP Plasma and it made a loud popping sound. The volume on the tv still works.

Hello.
You probably did not have that tv plugged into a surge protector. When the power was restored, a surge came through the line. A power surge is a spike in voltage above the maximum a tv, appliance etc. can handle of 169 volts. They are very brief, usually lasting millinths of a second. Power surges can vary in duration and magnitude, varying from a few hundred volts to several thousand volts.

That said, now what do you do. If the tv is under 3 years old I recommend that you take it into a local TV repair shop for a free estimate of repair. If it is older than that, I would not repair, just replace. J.

The power comes on and then turns off and the front green power light blinks.

There is a small IC in the power supply section,
not the IC regulator that's the problem.
