    Thanks for the quick reply...

Yes drive does come out when I eject it, but dont know why it doesnt read C.D. But its been ages the drive is like this not something that happened after re-installing windows XP professional. [so this isnt really my concern]

The main problem is, I cant find drivers for my ASUS motherboard online.

    The CD says- "

    M2V-TVM

VIA K8M890 chipset Support CD Rev.253.01

    64-bit computing Support

    M820

Do the lights come on on the optical drive? Will it open if you push the open button on the front? Is it listed in Windows's Device Manager?
For the video/audio drivers, I assume you are using VIAs onboard devices (built in to your motherboard). In this case, you can get your drivers from VIA (http://www.viaarena.com/default.aspx?Pag... )
or from ASUS (http://support.asus.com/ ) If you give me more specific information, (which version of windows) I can locate the proper link.

Can i get drivers ASUS M2V-MX SE Micro ATX - K8M890 Motherboard drivers for windows 7

Actually there's no driver required to install this windows 7 on this motherboard. It's clearly mentioned on Windows 7 Compatibility Center. (Click here for details). And hence, no driver is available on Asus Website.

If you need further help, let me know.

Good Luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Playback on audio cd's sounds bad. Sounds scratchy.

I would always install the driver first , especially if they have an updated version since your last install. also might check if there is a direct connect line attches from the back of the cd rom to the soundcard or motherboard. sound newer motherboards handle sound better without these.

Need drivers for Compaq Presario 5FR122

You can download the drivers for the MB, Video, audio, modem, & LAN etc. for your model Compaq from www.compaq.com
You do not need drivers for DVD ROM and CD-RW, you may need some software/plug-ins for to play DVD movies.
