SOURCE: black screen

Sounds like a backlight issue. Hold a flashlight up to the screen really close and move it around, shining it at different angles as you go. If you have a video source hooked up (ie. your PC) then you should be able to see the picture very dimly.

Several possible causes exist for such symptoms. These include capacitor failure, bad solder joints, dead CCFL, etc.

I can help you repair this problem by providing you with disassembly instructions and troubleshooting to isolate the issue. From there I will tell you how to DIY, or you can mail the faulty board to me for repair. I actually have spare parts for this monitor on hand and will ship it as soon as your old one arrives at my location. Fast turnaround!

I charge a flat rate fee of $40 for my repair service. That includes return postage. You pay for shipping to me.

I will also accept your entire monitor as a trade in towards the purchase of anothor. I have many working LCD's on hand. Prices for Grade A name brand units (Dell. HP, etc) are as follows:
15" - $50
17" - $70
19" - $90

Trade in credit for your old one:
15" - $10
17" - $20
19" - $30

If you pay the shipping on your trade in LCD, I will pay for the shipping of your new one back to you. Otherwise buyer pays shipping cost for any purchased units,

Please visit my web site, and feel free to call or email me with questions.

I continully receive a message of the screen is not in optimal mode of 1920X1080. I have gone to the screen setttings and have applied this yet I continue to receive the message when I go to play a game....

Your game does not natively run at the same resolution as Windows. Check the video/graphics settings in the game itself to adjust the resolution to 1920x1080.
Note that increasing the resolution to this, will drastically increase the load on your graphic card.

My H-size and V-size are at maximum 100 but the screen but screen is still small for the monitor size...what could I do to fix this??

There are two ways to adjust the picture, the best way is simply to use the buttons on the monitor, if that doesnt work negotiate to the software adjustments by right clicking on the screen and going to properties.

1920x1080 resolution-entire screen not viewable

This also happens to my vga connection to my TV.
I used my tv remote "auto" button to re-size it to fit correctly.
If your monitor/TV does not have the adjustment, you may need to
supply your vga compatible device with your monitor's driver software.
This tells your computer what monitor specifications you have.

Samsung Syncmaster 245BW sync problem

If you are plugged into a NVIDIA graphics card, use the NVIDIA control panel scaling option to "do not scale" then set the resolution to 1920x1080. This monitor is a 16:10 aspect ratio instead of 16:9 like HD TV's, so it is necessary to turn of scaling from the software and thus give black bars.
