SOURCE: Westec 5000 alarm...

I received a "dlr" failure message. Dialer failure on my 5000. A tech came by and said the system needs to be replaced. Other than the fact it the system will not dial out to report an alarm event the system works fine. Do I really need to replace it or can something be done to fix the error message?

Unhooking your battery should disable your alarm if there is no battery backup inside the alarm itself... but if there is then take out the backup battery first then car battery

Try disconnecting the neg. battery terminal. Open the drivers door and leave it unlocked then reconnect the battery back up.

Interior light left on all night, next morning car did not start, put in new battery, alarm kept going off, car still did not start

I know this might sound stupid but make sure that you are putting the positive cable on the positive side of the battery and same on the negative side. I had one of my customers install a battery on his car and the alarm kept going of non stop because he crossed the wires. And he also blew his Ignition/engine fuse. Also check your main fuse.

Can i by bypass my car alram

The car alarm on your 2000 Windstar minivan is wired into your van's battery. When you are making a repair to your car such as a battery change out your alarm can go off. You can easily disable the Windstar's car alarm by disconnecting the battery from the alarm. The battery is connected to the Windstar battery's negative terminal. Disconnecting the terminal from the battery will disable the alarm.

  • Socket wrench
  1. 1 Raise the hood of the Windstar to gain access to the battery.
  2. 2 Loosen the negative battery terminal labeled with a "-" with a socket wrench.
  3. 3 Disconnect the terminal from the battery to disable the alarm system.

I need the instructions for the Westek digital timer 1 3 prong outlet (TE55WHB) so I can program it. Thanks

I saw similar Westec timer at Target yesterday. Sears is supposed to sell Westec too. Buy timer and copy instructions.

Westec shows some manuals, but doesn't show TE55 product or manual for TE55
Other site reported problems with the TE55

I found manual for TE05, which might be similar

I need to replace my battery. The bike has a manufacturer installed alarm. I'm looking for the steps to take to enter my 5 digit code to reactivate the alarm after I install the new battery. Thanks,...

Why not hang a 12 volt source on the terminals, (starter solenoide, battery connection). That is what I do when changing batteries in vehicles. Saves the trouble of re coding the radios.
Hope this helps.

Alarm says terminals corroded

One of two things:

Somewhere in the wiring you have a weak connection and it is interpreting it as a bad battery or corroded terminals. It could even be where the cord goes into the sump pump. You will have to search it completely to find it.

The alarm itself is bad.

Beeping from fire alarm

check the terminal voltage of the charger, if its equal to the voltage the batteries are suppose to be then you probably need new batteries.
