SOURCE: how do i display very small exponents on the sharp

Hello,

You have several number display formats : Normal1, Normal2, Sci, ENG

If a number is too small or too large and the calculator cannot display it with the necessary number of digits (to satisfy your of decimal digits) the calculator uses Scientific notation

7.4E-14 =7.4x10^(-14)

If you were to use the norma1 or normal2 format you will have

.0000000000000074 but your calculator displays only the first 10 places

You should learn to use and interpret results in scientific format.

Hope it helps

Here is the manual in PDF format. Simply search the documant once loaded by holding the "CTRL" key and pressing "F" this will bring up a search window. From there type in the search window "exponent" there are 6 different mentions of it. the 4th one gives you directions.

I hope this helps you.

Fractions are shown as fractions, exponents as exponents, integrals as integrals, and so on. If you mean the key to raise a number to an exponent, it's the key marked "y^x", two keys above the "7" key. If you mean the key to enter an exponent of ten, it's the key marked "Exp", just above the "7" key.

To enter the power of 10 with exponent use the Exp key followed by the exponent. If the exponent is negative, you must use the negation key (-) not the - key (for subtraction).

When you press the Exp key you do not type in the 10.

I don't know about this specific calculator, but there is probably a button on your calculator that has a "y" with an "x" as a superscript (exponent). Or is could be reversed. But you wanted 2^8, you would push the 2 first, then the exponent button, then the 8, and there's your answer.

Good luck.

Good luck.
