Question about Lands Phones

Open Question

Want to control answering machine volume.

I have a Panasonic 5.8 ghz digital answering system. I cannot figure out how to lower the volume when messages are left. What do I need to do to lower the volume on my answering machine so that when messages are left they will not be overheard by others?

I have the same problem with a new Panasonic - seems like control of answering machine volume is not optional on most digital phones these days - not just restricted to Panasonic. Shouldn't that be a standard feature? If anyone knows of a model that does have this feature - please post.

Using the large navigator key in the middle, it is easy to adjust the volume while talking and listening message.
You just have to remember there are 3 (three!) ringers: one on each handset (each requires you to set the volume to zero) and one on the base that isn't terribly intuitive to silence: you hold down the 'down' volume and then hold it an additional two seconds and that puts it to silent mode. Also the base volume must be set to zero if you don't want the 'Call Screening' (where it plays the incoming caller's message at the last preset volume level) feature active.
for any more detailed help on this issue you can refer the manual as follows

just click the link and download the manual.
thanks.

Speaker volume not on or working. I can hear talking but no one can hear me answer. And no, the mute button is not on.

This is a very peculiar problem. I think in your model the base unit cannot be used to dial out otherwise I would have suggested you dial out from base unit and check. You could also confirm what happens if you receive a call on your phone rather than dial out. Is your voice still not heard in that situation.
If your model supports calls between handsets then try to check if you can have conversations between handsets.(no dial out).
One option is to reset your phone and re-register all the 5 handsets to base unit.

If you do not have a user manual then you can download a copy from this site and follow the instructions for reset and re-register.

You can choose from four ringer volume settings on the handset (off, low, medium,

SA-AK95 volume control problem

This volume controls is actually what is called an encoder. The control itself needs to be replaced. Figure on $5-$10 for the part plus the local labor rate for the total repair cost.
