Question about Chevrolet Vehicle Parts & Accessories
No prior problems
The code Po 707 is TRANSMISSION RANGE SENSOR FAILURE..Any codes from 700 through 998 is transmission and or drive train related..The sensor detects gear selector position and sends a signal to the PCM (POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE)...This is located at the driver side lower side of the transmission with a wiring harness going to it it is possible to re-calibrate it which isn't that hard to perform...If you would like to attempt that yourself I can try to explain it...?...But before that you can disconnect negative battery cable which will re-set the computer and erase the code...Sometimes the problem will go away...If you pull the shift lever too fast or have it in a wrong position and try to drive backward while it's in drive then jam it to reverse quickly it will throw.a false fault code at times...So try this and it may solve the problem....check fluid level anyway...I hope this info will help........Brooks/Metalpoet......
