Try replacing the temp sensor. You can test the temp sensor if you have an ohms meter that can read k-ohms. If the sensor is good then the board is probably not reading the sensor properly.

Fridge keeps beeping or buzzing: The following is for Frigidaire models but others can be addressed similarly.

Several Frigidaire refrigerator models have an electronic control panel on the freezer door the owner can use to adjust the internal temperature, dispense ice and water and receive notification about issues such as the need to replace a water filter. The refrigerators also emit a beep for various actions and as an occasional alarm. Determining what causes the beeps necessitates some troubleshooting.
Temperature Controls ·A Frigidaire refrigerator's display panel blinks when the control panel is touched to set temperature controls. After pressing "Freezer Temp" or "Refrigerator Temp" on the keypad, press the arrow buttons within five seconds to increase or decrease the desired temperature. If you do not press the arrow buttons within five seconds after pressing "Freezer Temp" or "Refrigerator Temp" on the keypad, the refrigerator beeps to indicate the current setting will stay in place.

Door Open ·When you leave the refrigerator or freezer door open, the refrigerator beeps. Also, the "Door Ajar" indicator illuminates on the appliance's display panel. Shutting the door and pressing "Alarm Reset" stops the beeping and turns off the "Door Ajar" indicator light.
·The Frigidaire refrigerator has a control lock feature that prevents use of its control panel or dispensers when the unit is locked. When the control lock is active, a beep sounds when a keypad or dispenser is pressed. Release the control lock by pressing the "Control Lock" icon for three seconds. Power Reset ·A power reset is occasionally necessary if the Frigidaire refrigerator's control panel does not work normally or a reset function on the keypad does not work. to check the defrost timer, u can get by and test manually by placing a small screw driver into the tiny slot or hole underneath the timer and turn slowly clockwise till u hear 1 click. this will engage ur defrost cycle in about 15 minutes u should be able to come back and feel the heat in freezer as it melts the ice providing ur terminator is not bad?
Another way to test it is with a multi meter. Remove timer it from fridge and you will see 4 prongs numbered 2,1,4,3 in that order. Place ur meter prong on prong 1 & 3 (if your fridge has a capacitor wired in series with the windings, then u check for micro fares rather than OHMS) If u cannot confirm this test, still try the next.
Take ur meter prong and connect to prong 1 & 4, it should read resistance or ohms ( closed) now remove prongs and place on prong 1 & 2, this should now read infinity or open (no ohms) now take a small screwdriver place it in the tiny hole or slot under the timer. Turn it clockwise slowly till u hear 1 click. Now ur 1& 2 should read closed ( showing ohms or resistance) now place meter prongs on 1 & 4 and you it should now show open ( or no resistance - no ohms) this is how u know ur timer is good, Remember when testing for ohms ADJUST meter to use a high ohms rating in the thousands as the resistance is very high in OHMS. And adjusting to low ohms rating may give a false reading or not show the proper resistance..


AT TIMES YOU MAY HEAR THE COMPRESSOR CLICK OFF AND ON OVER AND OVER. Signs of a bad start relay or capacitor. Check with an OHMS meter for continuity (ohms) and voltage, capacitor can be checked for Microfares. ( if in series with the windings)
To check ur compressor with multi meter:
Disconnect and remove the relay and capacitor from compressor, somes located next to compressor in a casing.

You wills see 3 prongs coming out of compressor. 1 goes to ur start winding, 1 goes to ur run winding and the center goes to ur ground or COM

Place ur meter connector or prong on the start prong and the other on the ground (center prong) take note of the reading in OHMS for example 5 ohms.
Next place meter prong on run prong and the center ground prong agin. Take note of the reading in OHMS. Example 4 ohms

Next place meter prong on the start prong and the other on the run prong, now take note of the reading example 9 ohms. Now match the total of this ohms test with the total of ur two separate test. 9 ohms, if they match ur ok give or take 5 percent plus or minus. One more test to make to test of there is a short in compressor attach meter prong to ground prong and rub the other end of meter prong to metal ( scrape the metal clean of paint and test on metal surface not painted surface. If it shows continuity or ohms , u have a short in ur compressor. It should show infinity

Magic Chef mini fridge HMBR445WE, turns on gets to temp but that's it,compressor does not turn on unless I turn the temp control off and on again. it does not get the signal to turn on by itself.

Water will not come into the washer but moter is running.I have checked all hoses


shut taps and disconnect hose and place in bucket then make sure water comes out of hose by slowly opening taps.
If ok check if the electric valves open by setting first cold then hot on temp button. if hot water only then cold valve is faulty. you should hear a click sound from valves usually situated under control panel. if not then unplug machine, remove control panel and measure resistance on electrical connections of cold and hot valves with ohm meter at around 15 ohm if they are marked 12 v
meaning they operate on 12 volts from the control panel computer.
if no ohm reading or in the mega ohms replace valve. you can swap the wires between cold and hot if cold valve is faulty and use the hot valve for cold wash only then you wont have hot water.
If both valves ohms around 15 ohm then plug in and measure voltage at valve when machine starts you should get 12 volts on valves.( be careful for mains high voltage from mains wire entering panel when measuring keep hands clear of mains voltage and any water from panel.
If no voltage may then be computer panel faulty. check connections from valve connectors to panel and connectors on panel may be loose if not check voltage on panel where wires connect to computer panel if no voltage then make sure the water level valve is not stuck in closed position that will tell the computer the machine is full of water. just remove one or two wires from the level control valve (the level valve is a round plastic valve about the size of a small cup and has wires and a thin plastic pipe connected to it )and start machine if water enters then replace level valve if not maybe its computer board fault, replace. (you can test level valve with ohm meter and blow into the place where the pipe is connected by removing pipe it should click and ohm meter should show around 0.2 ohms when blowing and high ohms when not blowing.) some click twice as they have two levels.

when the defrost terminator has gone out and u get ice build up? u can check the terminator with a multi meter for continuity but do not check at room temperature. stick the terminator in cup of ice water for 20 minutes then check it for continuity, should be closed when cold and open at room temperature.

Another item to check with a meter is the heating element itself. Located under the evaporator coils. It should show continuity or resistance OHMS WHEN TESTED AT BOTH ENDS OF THE PRONGS .

Lastly check the cold control thermostat with a meter for both OHMS and volts ( VOLTS is a live test with fridge plugged in so be careful) It must show 110 volts. An open or thermostat that reads infinity will not allow the proper cooling and defrosting cycles to operate and may in fact stop anything from happening as if there is no power to the unit?

This is THE ECT, the ENGINE. Coolant Temperature" sensor.

what do you wish to do with this very critical EFI sensor.???????

Ill guess, you have not read the FSM , as it covers that 2 ways.
the ECT can be tested 3 ways.
ill show 2
1: on car and off car.
1: on car. (is more easy. if strong back)
DMM set to RESISTANCE , aka. ohms. ohmega symbol
the DMM meter is $20 at walfart.
cold car, say at about 50f.
you unplug the ECT connector (2 pin conn)
cold engine it might read, 5000 ohm, this is good,
get engine fully hot. i use a IR pyro gun, it hit 180F or more.
and kill engine.
pull back off the ECT sensor. conn.
and it reads (2 pins 2 meter leads) about 300 ohms.
is this what you want.

i do 3 tests. 32F(ice) 79F (room) and 200F (near boiling)

Fridge is freezing everything on lowest temp


I believe your Thermostat is bad if you remove it it can be tested with a ohm meter and a glass of ice water. But first when you turn it all the way down it should have an audible click. turn off the electricity/unplug the frig take the plastic housing off to exspose the temp switch take off the elect wires should only be two. put an ohm/volt meter on the two terminals and ck for continuity. at its lowest setting(warmest) it should shut off no continuity as you turn it up it should click and have continuity. let me know if you need further. good luck

I have a 1982 yamaha vision 550 and it over heats iv tested the fan by giving it curent and the fan works fine is there a sensor or fuse that might be the problem


There should be a sensor in the bottom of the radiator that senses the water temperature and turns the fan on when it reaches a certain temperature. There is a sensor somewhere and I'm guessing it's in the bottom of the radiator. Jumper across it and see if the fan runs. To test it, you'll have to connect an ohm meter to it and put it in a pan of water. Slowly heat the water until the sensor changes state. Notice the water temp when this happens.

It's possible the relay is at fault if the rediator is not plugged up and the fans are ok. Assumeing you disconnected the fans from the electrical circuits and hooked then direct to the battery to test them. To test the relay i will show you if you have an ohm meter. Connect one side of meter to terminal 30 and the other side to 87 there should be no continuity. Then using 2 jumper wires connect 86 to positive post on battery and connect wire from 85 to negative post. At that point you should feel a click from relay. With the ohm meter still connected to terminals 30 and 87 there should be continuity. Make sure you are still connected to the battery. If any of the test i showed you failed then replace the relay. Hope this will help you.

remove connections from hi-limit switch, and put an ohm-meter across connections then heat it with a match or heat source of that temp range,heat the face and watch your meter it will show open when hi limit reaches cutoff limit/if you need exact cutout temp,you will need to have one of those digital read-out temp gun
