I have sam 51on lcd moniter with dim display problem

The screen displays is dark/ dim because there is no backlight.
There are two parts responsible for lighting the display. First is the CCFL (Cold Cathode Florecent Lamp), which is the back light and the second is the Inverter board, which provides high voltage to the CCFL. Either of the parts can be faulty or in some rare cases both.
In most of such cases that I received for repair, it was Invertor. Inspect the Invertor for any apparant physical damages (burnt coil or circuit components etc). Inverter can be checked by disconnecting the present CCFL and connecting a fresh/ working CCFL (Backlight) before actually removing the CCFL as it is difficult and unnecessary to take it out if its not the fault.

Hope it helps! Good Luck!

Screen does not show picture just very dim

is this a flat panel monitor? If so it is likely to be eithe rthe back light or the invertor. Invertors are relativly cheap if you can find one - try but if it is a screen gicve up as uneconomical usually.
Good luck

Acer AL1706 A monitor powers up green light is on but screen blinks out

you have a bad power supply, it maybe fixed. you have bad back lights in the screen, usally too expensive to replace with the cost of labor. you have a bad invertor, this will start the back lights. you need to open the rear cover and look at the power supply to see if you can find a burned componet or exploded componet. if you see a bad , burned componet a local electronics repair shop usually can fix it.

My microwave panasonic starts and then switches off automatically in 15 secs, why does it do that?

if your unit has inverter on it then your magnatron or possibly the invertor PCB is faulty, to determine which you will need to replace either the magnatron or the invertor, or both, which is an expensive repair either way, a DIY repair on either part can be dangerous without the correct tools and training to remove. if you feel competent then post back to me, but you will need a supplier for these parts.

The monitor i have no longer works the on/off button still lite up but no video.its a gateway model 2100 can it be a fuse?

you probably have a bad back light or the invertor is burned up. you will have to crack open the case and test the lamps from the display ona working monitor, you will have to open that one also. if the lamps light on the other monitor you need to repaur the invertor

I have audio but no video, after 5 minutes the video comes on. After it is on it will blink off and on for a while.

if its an LCD or plasma tv, it sounds like an invertor problem. (the invertors run the backlights to light up the screen). I would advise getting this repaired sooner rather than later, because if the invertor fails completely, it may damage the backlights and render the TV useless. if it is a CRT (tube) TV, then its possibly a bad solder joint near the HT area of the main board.

Light on the screen suddenly disappers

there is a invertor (fluresan invertor) in the LCD. invertor makes your lcd white, bright , lightly.  i think your invertor is breaking down. take the laptop to service.  sorry for my english.

Monitor on a 400 vtx gateway

Check the output voltage of the invertor board , if its 150 volt (point of cold fusion lamp connection) then the drive electronics of the invertor board from the motherboard is damaging the new invertor boards which you are trying to replace. Check input to the invertor board it should be 5 Volts and 12 volts .
