Hello i have an aRCHOs 704 mobile DVR which I use a lot. Suddenly I am not able to charge it and it won'twork off the mains either. It went back for a mother board repair at exactly 12 months - it is now only 17 months - should I send it for repair as it cost £400 when new or isthis particular item fraut with problems? Thankyou foryour advice. RachelMortimore

As it should covered under warranty or garranty as its not working properly.but many a times it can be possible that the adaptor may be faulty.just check out with another adaptor first before calling the service center.

Ive heard of many problems on that product, you could spend the money to get it repaired as it will need to be.
It could POSSIBLY be the power cord, check the entire length for faults.
If not might want to look at prices of new ones, compared to the repair cost of that one.

I hope this will help you. Drop me a comment if you still have problems. I will help you.Your vote is highly be appreciated

go for a registered service center.

Check if the charger is working, test a different one at alocal shop.
If it is the charger this is not too expensive.

If it is the motherboard (socket) call back factory and tell them that the repair had not been successfully, this may cover the expenses.

Hello, the main chip in the "light engine" has gone bad. Mitsubishi had a program that they were sending out the chip at no charge, but wouldn't pay the labor of changing it. I don't know if they still have that program going, but you might want to contact them. tks

My K series JVC TV suddenly went into "On Timer" mode after years of no problems. TV turns off before I get a chance to select "Menu". Don't even know how I turned this feature...

Hello
As your tV doesn't give you a chance to enter into its Menu option, you can't check with its reset function. The only way to reset it is, to unplug it from the wall power socket, and left it idle for at least three hours. Do this and check. if it also doesn't help, you ave to contact the authorised service center for JVC at your town. The main system control and its memeory section will have the trouble. This is ofcourse not a user repairable one. OK.

I have a 32" RCA

Hello
According to you, your RCA TV has went off while watching it. As there is no sound or picture at all, and the power kicks, the fault must be to its horizontal out section. The horizontal output section have LOT [Line Output Transformer] and related parts in it. Your TV must be chcked well to detect the actua fault. Normally, the LOT said above can be faulty, otherwise, the horizontal output transistor, the device that drive the LOT may also damaged. If this transistor gets leaky, the secondary main power DC supply will get a direct short, and the set will come on protection mode as we switch it ON. Here, according to you, this is happening. Just replace the horizontal output transistor first and see the effect. It is a three terminal component, screwed on to a metal heatsink, and can be located very near to the above said LOT.
After replacing it, switch On your TV, for a while, say 5 seconds or so, and if a whisiling sound is heard, and the replaced transistor over heats, the LOT said above is faulty, and should be replaced with same type and number. OK.

Hi I have a 51F500 TV as listed above. Yesterday, suddenly the sound stopped working. We have checked all possible reasons mute, speakers, power and DVR. We have nothing else attached. What could this be?...

Let's start here:

0) Unplug your tv and let is sit for a few minutes. Does the sound come back after turning back on?

1) Turn the tv volume all the way up - do you hear any sound whatsoever from the speakers?

2) Verify you do not have sound on any of the inputs on the back of the tv. Use a DVD, Xbox or other that you know is working properly with audio to verify this.

If the above answer are all "no" then likely the audio amplifier has failed, or a capacitor in the area has failed. It is not hard to fix, but if you don't have proper tools, I would call a repair shop and ask what they would charge to fix an audio failure.

Prices will vary all over the map so best to just call a shop and see what they say.

Magnavox rear projectin television

Check the fuse first, if you are luck, probably you only need to change the fuse otherwise you probably need a new TV.

Turn off home electrity power or unplug all the expensive units when it is lighting to protect them.

It's likely the Ssb is out, Philips p/n# 319801634710 which on a difficult scale of 1-10 is about a 6 or 7 for repairs. That is a DPTV310 chassis and somewhat tight quarters inside. It's not so bad taking the strappings loose to get at the board but a tight area to work through getting the standup board unplugged from the signal board. One noteable caution: unplug the set for at least 10 minutes before opening the back VERY STATIC SENSITIVE..
