SOURCE: lg 50 " plazma red pixels appering around top of screen

the actual problem is some of the components on some of the boards are showing signs of age (some of the values are changing slightly) this can be compensated for by adjusting your voltages (such as va & vs ) this take a little tech knowhow. or you can replace the y sus board but adjustments are necessary whenever replacing y or z control boards. hope this helps. i may know where to get boards if you need them.

Its very likely that you need to have LG perform a sodtware upgrade on your unit. Contact LG and see if your tv is one of the applicable units with software upgrade issues, please let me know if it works. Good Luck.

LG TV 42pc3d-ud Screen lost brightness

Suspects are main board and power supply board--either can do this. Keep in mind only boards are sold for this type of set---If LG Google the model number with "parts" as there is a place that sells all the boards by model number (not LG itself). You will see a list of the boards the set uses and prices.

Ive had this same problem caused by graphics card not being in tightly enough after a move or monitor swap it may be as simple as just pushing the graphics card back into the motherboard

@ week old computer has a dot of red light on screen, seems to be getting bigger

it may be a dead pixel, but being red is quite strange, if its just a week old, then it is still under warranty, take it back to where you bought it from, they should replace your laptop

Water spill on my AOC2216Vw LCD Monitor

Hey man, thanks for coming to me. Um yea, massaging may help but too hard will do damage since it is LCD is Liquid Crystal Display and it is fragile and easy to damage. The water should clear up in a few months, if not i would look at replacing it which can be costly. Here is a link to fix your unstuck pixels

Now im not liking that bit about how you mentioned was spreading so leave it for about two days, give the therapy for the screen a try and let me know if the laptop screen is healing. For the moment if you have one i recommend you hook up a VGA Monitor, old school stuff if you can and give the LCD a rest. I will post as a solution but comment back and i will keep helping you as much as you need it.

A week ago I purchased a Canon Ixus 970 digital camera. When using in dark conditions yesterday, I noticed two bright blue dots on the LCD screen. I've switched the camara off and on again and have...

You could try taking it back to the store if the (what seems like) the dead pixels are "distracting" you or "annoying" and if you are lucky you might get it exchanged.

It partially depends on the amount of the dead pixels present as for an LCD screen to be classed as being defective 0.01% of all of the pixels on the screen must be "dead".

God luck if you will try to exchange it.

Need settings because of rubbish picture

There is no right or wrong setting for the TV, but I find the following give about the best results:

  • Contrast - 65 maximum
  • Sharpness - 2 maximum
If these are set any higher, the picture becomes very grainy, particularly around defined shapes.

  • Contrast + - OFF
  • NR - ON (If applicable)
These settings will need to be changed for each of the following:
HDMI 1& 2
  • EXT 1, 2 & 3
  • Analogue tuner
  • Digital tuner
The problem you describe, is usually with a satellite or cable box.

Unfortunately, there's nothing much you can do about the dead pixels, but the settings may make them less obvious.

Screen settings wont save

To solve the problem of left-alignment, try setting the output of your computer to 75Hz. See http://support.microsoft.com/kb/311403 for how to do this.

Bright pixels?

Just a thought: doesn't the C-4040Z have pixel mapping for just this eventuality? Run that, and the stuck pixel cluster should disappear. Of course, whether you should * have* to use the facility straight away is a matter of personal opinion..., but at least there is something you can do about it. Use caution though, as presumably you can't get the stuck pixels back afterwards to use as your reason for returning the camera.
