Question about Jenn-Air Kitchen Ranges

1 Answer

Jenn-Air dual fuel double oven range - oven wont work.

I have a 7 year old Jenn-Air dual fuel double oven range and the large oven won't work. The small oven won't keep a temp. Sevice Tech said it needed a new component board because the old one was blown and the repair would cost $874! He said that was too much and I should get another range. Is this something we can attempt on our own?

Thank you for the model number. You can order the part yourself and install it for under $400.00 Here is the part to order.http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/clic... and the part comes with a 365 day, any reason, any part return policy. Just remove the back cover on the console to replace.

SOURCE: Jenn-Air Electric range clock display

The problem is likely bad capacitors on the clock module. I had the same problem on a similar oven and fixed it by replacing the capacitors on the clock module. Find someone who is good with electronics to help you. The parts will be a few dollars at most. See this link for more info: http://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=7902

SOURCE: Oven won't heat up at all.

broiler on top of oven?? if so it might have a second ignitor that is working. Most units now with gas have an electric ignitor to start gas ovens. What they do is send electric current through an electric "wire", when enough current is flowing through wire to open gas valve the wire is hot enough to ignite the gas flowing over it. When you turn on the oven look at the burner and after 1 imute or so you should be able to see an Orange glow in bottom of oven if not I'm sure its the ignitor, if glows then probably oven valve is bad. I'd guess ignitor because most oven makers use this ignitor to mantain a warming temp (around 100 degree's) so since your display doesnt register over inital "start" temp of 75, i'd bet ingitor not coming on at all

Oven won't lock and self clean.

Shut off the oven for at least a minute and turn it on, set the clock, and it worked. I had tried a short power cycle before and it didn't fix it. The extended power cycle did the trick.
