Question about Saeco Vienna Espresso Machine

It's approx 8yrs old ,gets used every day and works perfectly except there is water leaking from around the steamer itself and when I shut of the steamer it continues to release steam for a minute or so.

SOURCE: Saeco Vienna leaking

We had this problem and it was overflow from a clog -- check the hole where excess water drains into the drip tray to see if it is full of grounds. Cleaned it out with a twistie tie and flushed w/ water. That stopped the water on our counter!

It can be the steam valve or the boiler that is leaking.

SOURCE: saeco vienna saying brewunit blocked !

Hi There is a test mode for the Digital and we can see if you have a bad power board. Turn the machine off in back. Push and hold the small coffee button and the menu button (top left) at the same time and while you are holding the buttons turn the machine on. Release the buttons and you should have numbers in the display. If you can push the bottom left button and the machine makes a sound like the motor is moving, turn it off and then back on. If you don't get the message now you should really clean and lube your brew unit.

SOURCE: Saeco Odea Go - slow to brew coffee, comes out of steam valve

The steam valve needs to be replaced, because the pins have been damaged from high pressure buildup, could have been caused from a very fine grind. You can also check the screen in the brew unit that might be blocked and causing the high pressure backup.

Is the pump running? If so I would say you lost your impeller. If not running I would check for a circuit breaker for the motor.

I have not had good experiences with this washer My personal opinion would be to purchase a good second hand washer from craigslist as the repairs on this unit will probably reach 300+ including parts. You can get good second hand washers for that or less.

Every day or 2 I have to mop up water on the freezer side of my side by side. it is about 10 years old now.

sounds like the drain is blocked.you might have to remove the inside back panel in the freezer but look at the bottom of the panel,if you see ice there, there's a drain hole under the ice, melt it out with a hair dryer then you have to clear the drain,i use a steamer to do this,i stick the nozzle into the hole and the steamer blasts through whatever is in the hole,if you don't have a steamer you can try to melt the ice and then blow hot air into the hole to melt the ice down in the drain, then use a turkey baster or anything that will blow into the hole, when you think the drain is clear pour hot water into the hole,if it goes down the hole it's clear if not keep hitting it until the water goes down, watch out trying to snake anything into the hole, the lines are plastic, you can try a plastic tie to snake down the hole.if the drain isn't blocked check to see if one of the water lines are leaking from under the fridge or you could have a problem with the ice maker but you'll see ice forming from that,,good luck.

sounds like the input valve is leaking, not shutting entirely when it's supposed to.  most probably will need to be replaced.  have done numerous times and always solves problem.

Leaking water from steamer

For the grouphead check the basket there might be a slight bump around the edge that is preventing it from making a good seal when it contacts the gasket in the head. If the Double works fine then the gasket is not the problem.
For the steam wand try flushing wand for 3 seconds just before steaming, if that does not help with the watery milk, then the boiler is not getting hot enough to produce steam.

Conair steamer leaks water and wets my clothes.

When I use mine I hang the hand held part from my closet door, while I am waiting for it to heat up. When the hose gets too much condensation, from the steam, it leaks out... This will also happen if you try to use in the motion of an iron. The hand held part needs to be at a vertical position at all time to prevent leaking.

Replacement basket for Black & Decker HS800 Flavor Scenter Rice Steamer

I would not recommend replacing just the plasic basket, too expensive. Once the plastic parts begin to fail, the uint has seen better days (our basket was still ok, but the unit started to leak out the bottom and the timer would stop during the steaming).

Bought a replacment B&D Handy Steamer, oval shape allows longer food items to be steamed (approx 10"x8"), water res & can be filler while steaming. Price was $25 in local hardware (Jan 09). Not worth fixing the old one IMO.
