Question about Toshiba Televison & Video
The colours on the screen are wrong, the red overshadows the yellow, everything else is just fine, I have been told it is probably a tube (1 of 3 ) which has gone, I am an Electrician, is this something which I could fit without too much hassle and if I inspected the inside would it be obvious if the one of the tubes had gone faulty
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

This might be something really simple... In a large number of DPTV310 chassis, of which this TV is, the yoke connections where put in place with black electrical tape just below the retaining rings. Job is to loosen the rings, remove the tape and push the yoke back in place and tighten down retainer.. Be careful not to throw off the tilt of the yoke. The adhesive on the tape, over time, gets hot so many time it becomes slippery and allows the yoke to fall away from it's position dulling the look of the image (or focal length) causing the problem you're describing here... It also throws off the convergence - so in attempting to converge it just looks worse. Good Luck Bill

we have repaired 100s of these tv..most have a flicker issuse and it is getting hard to find replacement tubes. the cost sounds right...I suggest to invest in a new tv.

you have a laser that has gone out blue or green take the face off and see which of the colors you need you can still find lasers on ebay if you need one but it will require someone with a little expertise to replace them. if this is not for you then its time for a new TV this is probably the best option its more expensive to fix in most cases than to replace..........I hope this helps

You can probably purchase a smilar set on Craig's list for $300.00, at least that's what they go for in the Austin Texas area.
A new tube may be too expensive and difficult to replace.
