Problem: Sets off the ADT security system smoke detector....sometimes, but not always. Monitor is about 30 feet away, ceiling mounted, around the corner from the kitchen. ADT detector has been replaced and problem still exists. What is going on?
Hi,
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

SOURCE: my microwave says "child" and won't play anymore
Not sure of the TT series models but for the NN series models the procedure is as follows:-
If "Child" is displayed in the display window, then the child safety lock is on.
To remove the child safey lock, press the "Stop/Reset" button 3 times in fairly short succession (less than 3 seconds). The time of day or just the Colon sign (:) is then displayed
If you later want to apply the Child safety lock, then, when the time of day (or colon sign) is displayed, press "Start" 3 times (again in short succession).
Hope this helps
Doug

Are they on the same breaker?
They shouldn't be. A microwave should always be on its own breaker.
Is it actually ever smoking?
This was a model introduced in about 2000, so it almost certainly does not have the power line filter now required on microwaves.
So it may be outputting electrical interference via the power line.
I would try a power strip which has a noise filter, and be sure it is rated at 15 amps or better.
Let us know what you think once you've looked this over.
