Just got my tv via fedex. Took it out of the box, set it up, turned it on, and nothing. Reading through the instructions and it seems that a start up menu should have appeared, but as I said I only have a blank black screen. Any solutions? Help! Thanks!

How is the TV connected to the cable box (HDMI, component video, etc.)? Make sure that the cables are securely connected and that the TV is on the correct input. Try swapping the current cables for new ones. (The HDMI cable has come loose on my entertainment system at times.) If you route HDMI cables via a sound receiver (cable box -> receiver -> TV), try a direct connection to the TV.
For my TV, I have to turn on one set-top box before I turn on the TV to get the signals to correctly synchronize. (Try turning off everything connected to the TV and then turn on the accessories first. Then turn on the TV.) For another set-top box, it needs to be turned on before the TV. (So try both options.)
Make sure that your set-top box is on and try a different TV or input if possible. If a second TV doesn't work with the box, contact the provider and check for a service outage. (Also try a different set-top box (like a blu-ray player) to check if it is the input on the TV.)
Note: I've had mice or other things damage wiring; this takes out the cable and phone lines. If this is outside damage, your service provider should repair the damage for free.
I hope this helps. Please add a comment with more information about your TV and the connections that you are using for additional support.
Tries tv and the dish box unplug, replug it back an hour later for the tv to do a restting itself back to the factory setting and dish box to reboot and upgraded it software. This no signal problems should be fixed, not request another dish box for the replacement, because tv have no signal input bouncing around in the tv screen it is 90%-95% are broadcasting receiver boxes for tv incomming signal cable for tv signal problems.
Hi, Your set top box (PVR) is running on channel 3 or 4. Go to menu and sellect a source TV, DVD
Note: Do not connect more than 1 set of cables to tv or you may damage something.
TV > box connect RCA cable or HDMI not both.
Set top box > connect RCA or HDMI Not both.
audio devices > TV connect RCA or HDMI not both.
Your cable box most likely has a setting for audio HDMI such that HDMI sound is turned ON etc. rather than standard audio. Also check the TV settings for HDMI audio being set to ON. This should be a simple fix. HDMI audio usually is just a user setting adjustment and nothing more. Somewhere in your on-screen menus you should find the place to adjust HDMI audio.
Hi You should not have to re-tune your tv as the set top box will be plugged in via a scart lead so its the set top box that needs to be retuned. Go to the menu of the set box and select new installation under features or set up. Hope this helps
I have the same set, same problem with one of my MOTOROLA boxes, but not with another. I have a SONY TV that works fine with this new MOTO box, but the new VIZIO does not. The audio is coming through the HDMI cable just fine, and the fact that it works when you cycle power on your TV means it's the SYNC between the TV and the BOX. I have the identical problem and am taking back the MOTO box for another one. I spoke to VIZIO for about 45 minutes trying different things. They think it's the MOTOROLA box, COX (my cable company) thinks it's this particular box, who knows.
Try resetting the TV by holding down the "up" button on the remote (with the TV powered on) and then, while you hold down the up button on the remote, hit the power button on the TV. This should do a "factory reset" which will wipe all settings in the TV. There is no reason why the TV should not "remember the last input it was on when it was ;last turned off. Also be sure that the TV is not plugged into a switched AC outlet, like the outlet on the back of the cable bix. The TV should be plugged into an output that receives power at all times.
