Question about Zebra Office Equipment & Supplies

Open Question

Need to center barcode on barbel label

We have a Zebra TLP 2824 Plus that prints barbell/butterfly labels with the black stripe on them. It prints all the labels we need, however, the first few (3 to sometimes half of the labels) come out completely off center and un-scannable. We usually have to print our orders twice just to get enough usable labels (meaning labels with barcodes that will scan). How do we adjust this label printer so that all the barcodes are centered properly on every label printed (not just the last half of the order)? We have tried re-calibrating and updating the driver which has not worked.

SOURCE: Labels not printing properly

El problema es que la impresora tiene diferentes parametros de impresion, de oscuridad o velocidad. Ajustalos para que sean iguales en el print server como en workstation. SOURCE: MY ZEBRA TLP 2824 PRINTS IN THE MIDDLE OF MY LABELS.

Don't shoot it, they're too hard to cook.

Make sure your program is set for the label size you're using. Also, there is a photo eye under the paper path that picks up the labels. It will, in time come out of adjustment. It can be cleaned with a swab and alcohol.

Just one of the double tags is printed on

I assume by double tags you mean 2 labels across the roll.
You need to tell your software that the roll is 2 across.
If using the software that comes with the printer, Zebra designer.
Set your label width to twice the single label and copy the barcode so that you have 2 across the label, then print

Cant print on butterfly label with Zebra TLP 2844 printer

This is a problem of label sensing.

You are probably using the Gap sensor on the 2844, unfortunately the shape of the butterfly labels means you are sensing the wide gap between the labels in the centre, so it will not print anything in the apparent gap area on both ends of the label.

What your label or system supplier should have done is supplied you with the same labels but with a 3mm wide black mark on the underside of the label backing paper, centred between the labels. You can then change the printer sensor setting in the driver to Black Mark. You will then be able to print anywhere between the black marks.

is the printer an EPL or ZPL model? i will need to see a hex dump of what you are sending to the printer to pin point the error but it sounds like a label layout issue.
is the barcode content the same on each label? if the barcode content is changing the barcode will grow and move to the right.

are you able to give me 2 print dumps? change the printer port to file and post the files content here and I will tell you if it is a config/software issue, it sounds like the software is not setting the label home position correctly(R command)
