SOURCE: Vtech M6896 phones do not work

Step 1: Press and hold FIND HANDSET on the main telephone base for 10 seconds.

Step 2: When the IN USE light starts to flash, release the FIND HANDSET button.

Step 3: Press and release FIND HANDSET again. The IN USE light will turn off and in a few seconds, all handsets will be de-registered.

Step 4: All handsets will show NOT REGISTERED.

To register a handset (register 1 handset at a time):
Step 1: Place the handset in the base unit or a charger that is connected to a power outlet. If PRESS FIND HNDST 4 SEC ON BASE does not appear on the screen after a few seconds, lift up handset and place in base or charger again.

Step 2: On the telephone base, press and hold FIND HANDSET for four seconds. Release FIND HANDSET once the IN USE light comes on.

After a while the handset will emit a series of tones, the newly registered handset will be assigned the lowest extension number not previously assigned to another system handset (1-4) when successfully registered. Repeat Steps 1 and 2 if the handset does not successfully register to the telephone base within two minutes.

SOURCE: I recently purchased a Panasonic

It's available on the Panasonic website (http://www.pasc.panasonic.com/EpartR/PartsList.asp) for under $2 plus shipping, but for some strange reason can only be purchased during business hours.

SOURCE: nothing works

The wiring on the jacks is set up for a 2 line phone.

If you take the jack apart, you will see either:
A red, green, and black, yellow
Or awhite blue/blue white and white orange/orange white

You need to swap the pairs.
Ifthere are red/green/black/yellow wires. remove the yellow/black andmove them to where the red/greens are. Then put the red/green wires, where the yellow/black used to be.

OR, you need to swap the orange and the blue wires.

If you have no experience doing this I would have an electrician do it for you.

I am trying to find a place where I can look up a serial number to see what my armoire is worth. Can you help

Never seen an armoire that had a serial number as an indication of age Amanda. Antique pieces are never serialized. Modern pieces have a serial to aid shipping and possibly recalls, but not as an indication of age.

It is worth whatever someone is willing to pay. Look online for similar pieces and make a guess if yours is better or worse.

I need a new battery and where do I get it and how much are they?

2.4 Ghz phones are firly 'older',if you will.It is not likely that any batteries are still available for them.We had the same frequency phone, just a different brand, and when we tried to find a battery for it last year, and we looked EVERYWHERE,on-line,any store that sold them, but there were none to be had. They are kind of evolving like computers/windows programs and are obsolete every few years.I do not know if you are in the US or not but here is a link. Also there is no TT.Is a letter missing?I found ATT and ITT.I found another site which at the bottom said product shown in the picture may not reflect actual product.Be very aware of anything you see like that as it is probably some generic piece of junk copy made cheap somewhere which may not meet the specifications required. If you are unable to find yours anywhere, which you need to match the exact model or at least the exact battery specifications,do not buy it.They usually read something like 750Mah 3.4V.That is 750 milliamps(three quarters of 1 amp) per hour 3.4 volts output. The newest technology is DECT 6.0 . It is supposed to have better range away from the base and less static/more clarity. It is kind of stupid though because one fact about them is that they use 1.9GHz which was used years ago and then they started using faster and faster frequencies(2.4,5.8).They average aroung $60-$100 for 2 or 3 handsets and the recording machine and some are capable of adding more handsets(I think up to 5 total) if you want to any time after that.It will be my next phone purchased.Good luck! I have an old pedal operated singer with a serial # plate that says G7565177. Just wondering how old it is and how valuable it is?

Hi! I love old Singers!!! Your machine was made at Singer's Elizabethtown factory in 1919-1920. If you call Singer at 1-800-4-Singer or email them at TalkToUs@Singer.com, they can tell you what model it is.
As for the value of your machine, there's no way to tell. Appraisals of antiques requires hand-on evaluation, and an appraisal of an antique dealer would be of its value purely as an antique. Sewing machines were really mass-produced and the old ones are solid and sturdy--all metal. They were built to last forever with minimal maintenance and that done by the user. So far, they have an excellent track record of lasting forever, so a good many of them are still around. They aren't rare.
The old machines can be cleaned up and restored. The leather belt on the treadle can be replaced and the machine can enjoy many more years of service. Check out http://www.treadleon.net/ or http://www.ismacs.net/home.html for more information.
Happy Sewing!
Robbie

We have a lot of static and loud buzzing on the phone

I had the same issue that started on some 3 year old 5.8 GHZ Uniden cordless phones. I moved it from room to room and same buzzing. I found a older Uniden set I had kept in a desk drawer. I swapped out the power transformer (power cord) and it is clear as a bell now.

Replacement color wheel for samsung 50'

I am having the exact same issue with the exact same TV. They no longer make that color wheel, so I am looking for a replacement part as well.

I am looking at the 01103A as well from here:
http://www.partstore.com/Part/Samsung/Samsung/BP9601103A/New.aspx?ModelMfgName=Samsung&ModelBrandName=Samsung&ModelNumber=HLR5078W

I think I might just order it, and if it doesn't work just return it.
