Hello - Usually this type of information is not release to someone who is not a technician (or to a consumer) and it is very rare to find enough information to do it yourself. Typically this is something that you want a certified professional to install for you due to safety and liability reasons. They also usually warranty their labor just in case something else may turn out to be the root cause of your initial problem and it does work out better to your advantage. Consider contacting your manufacturer for more details on who in your area can properly repair/install this part. (part usually have a 30 day warranty with tech). I would suggest contacting your manufacturer to provide you a listing of authorized technicians in your area whom may guide you through this process.

Control board and wiring harness which are supposed to replace Frigidaire 242000406 are apparently not correct. I have now installed 2 of the new control boards and I am unable to get any power to the...

Hello Gentlemen;

My name is Peter; I am a retired field service refrigeration technician.

The two of you are on the right track.

The board that you replaced;

19294535-2wop33oc00rzrbarpm5t54vf-3-0.jpg
Substitution: 5303918498
The electronic control board controls the major electro-mechanical components in the refrigerator. When the electronic control board senses the compressor needs to run to cool the refrigerator, it sends voltage to the compressor and fans. It then receives input from temperature sensors to monitor the temperatures inside the refrigerator and freezer sections.

This is a substitution and can not communicate with your existing electrical control board. You need tor replace this board was well:

Substitution: 241973711 Cost: $83.00

The electronic control board 241973711 controls the major electro-mechanical components in the refrigerator. When the electronic control board senses the compressor needs to run to cool the refrigerator, it sends voltage to the compressor and fans.

When you plugged in your old board and got power, that is because the two boards were communicating.

When you change the board be careful to ground yourself by touching something that is bare metal. Static electricity will knock out a board.

The Electrolux Frigidaire Refrigerator is a good unit. It should last you 20-30 years. If you want a unit that is in constant repair, buy either a Samsung or LG. They have the highest failure and repair cost of all of the manufacturers.

I HAVE WHIRLPOOL NO FROST REFRIGERATOR-FREEZER , IT IS NOT COOLING. I WANT TO LOCATE THE DEFROST TIMER PLEASE YOU HELP. THANKS .

Hello,

Depending on model it have a defrsot timer or perhaps a electronic defrost control but they usually will be located in the control panel if you have a knob used to set the tempature and if it has a digital display that you set the temp. by pushing the button on the front it will have a defrsot control and thats not so easy to put into defrost as the timer is.

Please reply with exact model number as found on the label in the fresh food compartment and i will tell you if you have a defrost timer or electronic control

FRS6HR5HSB6 model frigidaire side by side fan making noise. Ice is building up around fan. What is causing ice buildup

the defrost circuit has a problem, allowing the frost/ice buildup..
remove the shelves, and back lower cover in the rear of the freezer to expose the evaporator coil, defrost heater, and defrost thermostat.
the defost heater should have continuity through it and the defrost thermostat will have continuity when frozen but test open when warmed.. if either bad replace.
if both test good look for bad connections in the freezer compartment wiring, and moly connectors otherwise the temperature controls are bad and it is an electronic assembly that incorporates the temperature controls with the deforst timer controls..
hope this helps,
best of luck,
ttfn
