Question about HP Officejet Pro 8500 Wireless All-In-One InkJet Printer
Printer was printing fine for a couple of pages but then it looked as though the blank ink was low so I replaced it. Now, the printer is printing blank pages whether I send a document from my computer, scan it, or copy it. I've cleaned the printhead, checked the ink supply levels, and restarted the printer. I'm at a loss of how to proceed. It is only the black ink that is not printing.
Try reinstalling all of the printer software. If that does not do it then something is wrong with the printhead itself, specifically the area that controls the flow and metering of the black ink.

HP, in order to sell more ink, monitors the expiration date of the cartridges installed. Solution is either to buy a new unexpired cartridge from HP or to disable the date monitoring built in to the printer. This latter is done by removing the button cell located inside the D135 printer on the left hand side or by simply slipping a thin piece of plastic between button cell and metal contact. You will no longer have date function on printer, but it won't object to expired cartridges either.

Turn off the device after removing the printhead
After removing the printhead, turn off the device, wait about 20 seconds, and turn it on again without the printhead installed. After it has restarted, reinsert the printhead.
it will go through this long routine of perhaps 20 min or so. after its compleate it should print great.
