HELLO MY NAME IS ANDREI
I THINK YOU MIGHT OF LOCK THE DISC. BY DOING THIS YOU BLOCK THE PLAYBACK OF THE CURRENT DISC. SUBSEQUENT ACESS TO A LOCKED DISC REQUIRES A SIX DIGIT PASSWORD THE DEFAULT PASSWORD IS 136900. THIS WILL UNLOCK THE DISC LOCK FEATURE. MAKE SURE YOU GO YO SETUP AND CHOOSE UNLOCK DISC LOCK PERMANENTLY OR IT WILL KEEP DOING IT EVERYTIME YOU PLAY THE SAME DISC. HOPE THIS MIGHT OF SOLVED YOUR PROBLEM.

my dvd player did the same problem. and i solved this just with a screw driver:) if your dvd player s guaranty finished!! switch off the player and open the screws which r 2 on sides and 3 behind the dvd. open the cover and take off the two group of cables on the chipset which are on the mechanical part side! (mechanical side: dvd driver) than plug the cables again to their socket. its done! close all and go on ! i hope this will solve your problem as mine...

THE DVDR3455H HAS A COMMON PROBLEM AFTER A FEW YEARS THE HARD DRIVE GO BAD, IT WONT BOOT UP
99% OF THE PROBLEM WITH THE PHILIPS DVDR3455 IS THE HARD DRIVE.
IT WILL KEEPING REEBOOT OR IT WILL HANG ON THE PHILIPS LOGO.
IT IS NOT A FIRMWARE PROBLEM IT AHARD DRIVE PROBLEM.
ONE THING YOU SHOULD KNOW, IF THE HARD DRIVE IS BAD YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO UPGRADE THE FIRMWARE IT WILL NOT READ THE CD OR DVD DISK.
AT THIS POINT IT NOT LOOKING FOR A FIRMWARW DISK BUT IT LOOKING FOR THE BOOT UP SOFTWARE.
OR THE LOAD CD WHAT PHILIPS CALL IT.
SOLUTION REPLACE THE HARD DRIVE WITH THE LOAD SOFTWARE INSTALL ON IT.

I really need to know the model number for the TV to give the correct answer, but on most Philips TVs, the INFO button (on the Philips remote supplied with the TV) will switch this feature on and off.
If you don't have an INFO button or you still can't remove the channel/input information, please reply to me with the model number of your TV.
Hope this helps.

Tips for a great answer:
Jan 19, 2014 | Philips GOGEAR Audio Players & Recorders
To convert this player for multi-region playback
This hack should work on all Philips DVD players with any firmware version, and other similar models by manufacturers such as Grundig, Marantz and Yamaha
Please note that if you experience problems with this hack you can obtain firmware version 7.03 and later by visiting the PhilipsSyndicate to obtain files that you can burn to a CD-R and flash your unit to the new version.
The following uses the machines own remote control:
We have heard reports that hacking some players using the units own remote control incurs a 25 change limit after which it will lock the machine in the last set region
We have heard other reports that hacking some players such as the DVDR-880 using the units own remote control can result in an inoperable unit, we recommend you use the OneForAll remote only and consult our Region Hacks forum for more information
If the above does not work, you will have to send the infra-red code RC6 (aka Codeset 4, Key 235 in nerd-speak) to your player with a OneForAll remote such as the OneForAll 6 (or URC7560) or OneForAll 4 (or URC7740) or OneForAll 4 Digital with the following instructions:
NB: Sending these codes to some players, such as the Philips DVDR-980, requires you to select a DVD player remote on the unit as the default IR device, as opposed to the DVD recorder remote it is factory set to. Please consult your player documentation to find out how to do this.
2. The onscreen display should show 11 spaces like this: '-----------'
NB: The actual display may differ slightly depending on the model of your player, may be shown on the unit itself, or may even not be visible on some models at all.
3. Using the number keys on your DVD player's remote control, enter the code 222 222 005 255. Note that this is 12 digits and the last digit will not show on the on-screen display.
NB: For players such as the Philips DVDR-980, DVDR-985 and DVDR-1000 units, you may need to use the code 121 212 005 255 instead. For players such as the Philips DVDR-880 you may need to use the code 121 212 005 00x instead, where x is the desired region, however this also works on other units including the DVDR-985 for setting a specific region. 4. Press the Play button on your DVD player's remote control 5. The onscreen display should now show the words No Disc 6. Power off your DVD player, wait 10 seconds and then power back on
