a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: razr v3m text problem
This is a known issue with both the RAZR and KRZR phones. Motorola is supposed to be working on a software update to fix the issue permanently, and when that is released you can take your phone in to your nearest store (Verizon or whoever your carrier is) and they can update the software for you.
In the meantime there is a temporary fix:
- From the main messaging screen (left soft key when you're at your home screen on Verizon phones) open up the settings (right soft key).
- Choose the option for all types of messages (should be the first option)
- Find the Auto-Erase setting and turn it on.
- Power down the phone either by holding the power button (end call button) or removing the battery.
- Turn the phone back on, then go back through the same menus and turn Auto-Erase back off.
This will let you use your texting functions once again. Remember that this is only a temporary fix, so the issue may resurface!

This may or may not work, but this is what I heard.
Something went wrong when downloading the Firmware onto the Rival, it is a factory defect. Fortunately there is a fix (as far as I know).
Doing this will loose ALL MEMORY including contacts list and inbox.
1 Press Menu
2 Select Settings
3 Select Phone
4 Select Security
5 Enter Unlock Code & Press Done (Usually the last 4 digits of your phone number)
6 Scroll to Restore Phone and press OK
7 Confirm by selecting Yes
8 When prompted Enter 4 digit unlock code and press Done
PS do me a favor, let me know how this works out for you??

Just finished speaking with the Motorola Rep.... the fix is partially as stated above:
Before you do this fix, copy all of your contacts, photos, etc.... you will lose all of them when you do this phone restore
- enter your unlock code, the last 4 numbers of your phone# unless you changed it
- again have to enter the phone code
At this point when you get out of this the phone will restart...
Then the second part of this fix is as follows:
options (the soft or light button on the phone frame)
- set to on
Now you should no longer have "hidden" texts saved (emptys "trash can" maybe?) ..... sounds like a software glitch to me, but that's what they suggested and it worked... good luck!
