check your battery condition, check charging system, check battery clamps for corrosion. Hot engines require more energy to crank it. No matter how good a condition your engine is, if starter cranking speed is not reached, engine will never start. so check the first 3 mentioned above, and if all are in order, possibility is your starter needs cleaning or carbon brushes need replacement or starter commutator where brushes are in contact needs cleaning. good luck

Roller brush does not engage

. Turn unit on the side and inspect brush assembly for dirt, hair, etc. , also check the condition of drive belt , be sure that it is engaged with brush roller and turning freely. Also check the option of the'suction release' valve near handle which may free brush movement. good luck. a1fe9acb-d948-4a5d-a15d-619a901ba149.jpg 72bf93b5-160b-4ddd-8f56-3515fb5b8a7e.jpg 72bf93b5-160b-4ddd-8f56-3515fb5b8a7e.jpg

The brushes won't turn, and cleaning the filter (as suggested in the owner's manual) doesn't help.

Hi ken wright.
Remove the bottom of the head of the vacuum...remove the roller brush assembly.
Clean the assembly...remove the end caps and clear all hair, strings, etc from the end cap and rotating brush head.
After cleaning the brush head and bearings, lube the bearings with a good grade of machine oil such as 3 in 1 oil.
Check your belt condition.
Reassemble and you should be good to go

The motor driving the brushes does not start or function in any way. It has been thoroughly cleaned and the bearings look good and the brushes rotate freely when the mach is off.

There are two conditions that cause the brushes not to spin. One ia a cold solder joint on the paddle board connector of the Cleaning Head Assembly and the other end that connects to the brush motor may also suffer From the same condition. Here are some of my photos to reference

Good day I have a 7" angle and my issue is sparking interior on bottom near brushes please advise to cause and solution

If it is sparking that is quite noticable, and certainly could not be confused as normal, I would take the brushes out and make sure the spring is in good condition, the brushes are of good length, and that they move freely within the brush holder. If all of this checks out, it is possible you have a raised bar on your armature. If the sparking is so severe that it comes with its own sound, it is possible you might have a winding issue.

The roller stop rotating

Remove the brush assembly from the base unit and check the condition of the drive belt. Check the brush end bearings for wound-up thread, hair, and other debris. Place the brush back without the belt--it should spin freely. Reinstall the belt if it is in good condition and check for motor running of the brush. If it seems weak, replace the belt. Hope this helps!

How to test the motor

I don't know what we are testing for but you need a volt ohms meter and I would unplug the tool and remove the handle half. Test the cord to the switch and then engage switch and test thru it, Remove the brush caps and brushes and test from the switch to the brush holders if you have continuity thru all these look at the condition of the commutator thru the brush tube and rotate the blade by hand and look for major discoloration or the raising of a comm bar. Check the condition and length of the brushes for the spring being collapsed. That would be a good way to start, but if you can give me some idea what you are looking for I will try and help more, I would also need the exact model number and brand.

The vacumn runs but brush dose not turn belt is good. It's a dyson 110 us c 10417

Now is it air driven or belt driven? It could be the belt that's not turning the brush. Check if the belt is loose or is broken. If it's air driven, then check and see how the condition of the bearings are. If it doesn't roll smoothly then you need to replace the brush roller. If it does roll smoothly then check if there's a blockage in the line.

Check that the beater bar is completely clear of thread, this will bring the brush roll back to normal. Also check the sides of the brush roll doesn't have anything such as thread or thick string at the sides.
