How do i fix the bottom half of my laptop screen which is all black

Hi,

It is unfortunate that the bottom half of the laptop screen is black. You may try performing an LCD BIST using the below link:

Also try connecting an external known good monitor and check if that helps.

Thanks and Regards.

Screensaver set

Hi, go to start- Control panel- personalization. Click here and check if the
screen saver is turned off. It is located on the lower right corner. Click on it
to turn the screen saver back on. This is for windows 7.

If you are running XP go to Start- Control panel- Display. Click on the
display icon and there is a tab that says screen saver. Click here and chose
your screen saver.

Computer screen messed up after connecting to a Projector.

Sounds like your screen resolution has gotten changed. Plug your VGA cable in and reset it to 1024x768. Then with the laptop on remove the VGA cable. When you connect your laptop to other devices like that, make sure you are not setting the resolution to the same as the TV.

Screen is black

The cable is dislodged or you have a failing lcd.If you want to repair this yourself.Check online for a replacement cable and a Lcd too. Then you will have to open the Lcd Bazel to remove or check the cable.Make sure when you attempt this there is no power attached ,battery and Ac Adapter.
Good luck

Screen is half picture and half black with vertical colored lines

I had the same issue. I could get the tv to work intermittantly by pressing on the boards while playing. This points to bad solder joint, so I resoldered every molex plug connector, and it nows works like a charm.
