try putting the battery in the charger with the power turned off (unplugged from wall socket ) leave over night then start recharging fresh and dont disturb for 10hours after 10 hours see if any better hope this helps glenn.........

You can go to any repair facility and buy a replacement cord making sure of the wire guage and conductor (2 or 3) what you can do is make a wiring diagram and remove the old cord and holding the cord about 10 inches from end pull one wire at a time and if there is a break it will pull out to confirm your suspicion. The part that goes between the motor and the chuck is called the CLUTCH UNIT,
REF 2615294309 it is a splined rubberised sleeve, it also fits the 276 and 396.

You are right,it will need a slider switch replacement,But first-is it still under warranty?If it is call the costumer support on their 1-800 ...number.If not you could DIY it.Opening the drill is not that hard and as long as you observe the proper orientation and where every wire is connected to,you will be able to disassemble the unit.Inside you could see where the slider switch is connected and how it is positioned.Usually the surface of the switch is burned out and this you have to replace.The next problem is locate the part number it is usually found printed under the slider part.And the next big thing is to order the part and where to order it.Consult the user manual that came with Dremel unit and the ordering address is there.
