Re: Fax number

For the Brother MFC-7420, simply press menu/set button, then scroll with arrow up to select 0.(Initial Setup), then scroll down to 3.(station ID), it then asks you for your password you setup, enter it now, then press menu/set button again, select 1.(change), and it displays your current set fax number, type your new fax number over it, and it will change it, then press menu/set, it will ask you to enter number of station ID, enter your new fax number again, press menu/set, it will then display your name, correct it if needed and press menu/set button, and your all fixed up!

I want to send a fax message using Brother 2820 fax machine, but I don't want the receiver to see my phone number when he receives the fax message print out. Is there any way I can do this?

The FAX machine will print the Tel number that has been programmed in your machine. It does not print on the basis of the caller ID received. So i think if you remove the number programmed in your fax machine

Cannot receive faxes, but can send

I can send faxes from my HP Fax 1010, but cannot receive them. I can dial the number from another phone but it will keep ringing and the machine never picks up. We have tested the phone line and all seems well. Is there some setting on the fax machine itself that I need to change in order to receive? Any assistance you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Hello, I have a little used 18 mth old Sharp FO P610 fax machine. It receives fine but when sending the recipient receives 'black all over' pages. I have tried disconnecting the unit for an hour and...

Try just making a copy and see if you have the black lines on your copy (most fax machines have a basic copy function if it is you have dirty scan glass and on these small machines it is a real hassle to get too and clean Try Canned Air. If no black line on your copy it may be the recipients machine.

Can't receive fax but can send

Call your cell phone from the fax machine and check the caller ID to make sure that it is the correct number for your fax machine. Next, call the fax machine from you cell phone, and make sure the fax machine rings. Problems like these are almost always a phone line issue, not the machine.
