with out seeing the switch and how it's wired . i'll try
do you have power to the light switch it self. you have power to the fan but does the switch for the lights have power, you may have to run a jumper or sepperate wire fir the lights

Unfortunately, you either have a faulty reciever or remote. A replacement will cost $30-$40 at homedepot. And it doesn't matter which is faulty because you can't purchase them seperately anyhow.

kjob, if you haven't figured you fan problem out yet, the must be set to the highest setting through the pull chain for it work correctly with the remote.
