Maytag performa off balance

My maytag performa when in spin cycle is off balance and is banging on the sides of the washing mashine and moves around, it is like there was a monster inside the mashine that wants to come out, when it does that, I have to move the clothes around in the washer and even doing this it does not clear the entire problem the tub still bangs on the side of the mashine, any help tips, thanks!

Check the vibration dampers and the plastic mounts for wear. They should be solid to the machine.

Maytag performa washer during spin cycle tub is making loud banging noise and continues even when clothes are evenly distributed

This sounds like the transmission is going. Better get another washing machine other than a Performa.

Maytag washing machine gets out of balance

Maytag uses an auto balancing mechanism, based on the rear legs. These legs should move freely. Lay the machine on its side, and try to move the rear legs. If they won't move and appear rusty, then spray penetrating oil on both legs and move them until they move freely.

Maytag Performa Washer spins out of balance

There was a recall on the washer base, which caused the unbalanced problem. Find Technical Buletin TDL-0050B-B issued by Matag.

Spin cycle

This is a repeat, but maybe the same result.  Remove the front cover (usually two clips between the top and the front, move it around) and check each of the springs that hold the unit to the base.  Have found that just one spring would cause a out-of-balance condition.  When you open the lid, does the basket seem to be leaning one way or the other?  If so, look on the side that shows more than the other.  Also, reach in and grab the inner basket to see if it seems loose.  Have had the basket drive mount break halfway through and caused it to roll really bad.  Let me know what you find out, or if you need futher help.  Jim
