the grande punto doesn't play mp3s, you need to either botch an aux cable from a set of earphones, theres guides on fiat forum - grande punto on how to do his, or you can get an FM transmitter. Newer models have blue and me which you can sort the problem with but otherwise your options are listed above. You could always just convert your mp3's to .wav or .wma files before burning.

i think that the red wire is the acc wire but im not 100% on that because you havenot witten what model the radio is
anyways if it is the acc wire then connect that to a 12volt supply and see if it turns on all other wires must be connected though ecept for the blue wire which i think is the remote wire for a amplifier

If you are installing an aftermaket deck then it will come with a new harness which you can solder into the old one and clean things up. If you have a lacking confidence with electrical wiring then you can take it to a car audio installer and they should be able to repair it for you.
