I have a rp-300 which just stopped printing its approx. 3 yrs old

First remove ink cartridge then check there is not any paper jam also check in back side of printer for paper jam.
then try if again problems then reset your printer to factory defaults.

it seems like your (OPC) image drum has worn out.

you may print the supplier ifor page by pressing and hot the button for 5 sec and let go.

OPC life spend is approx, 25K +/-.

if you image count color + mono is more than 25K it is time to replace it.

I think your print head is finally dead. I would purchase this from www.precisionroller.com by searching for "Canon BJC4100 Ink." You get the print head, a black cartridge, and a color cartridge for $67.50. I think you should spend the money to keep this printer running. A lot of the new printers are cheap, the print heads only last about two years, and replacing the print head costs more than the printer did.

Someone got printer printing the same 300 or so


Assuming you're running Windows, go into the control panel, select printers, select your printer, double click on it and cancel all print jobs.
Possibly, someone wanted 3 copies and hit 300 or, someone's messing around. Look at what is being printed 300 times, and you should be able to figure who ran the print job.

Check the toner cartridge. When they get old, they may leak. Also you mentioned double printing. do you mean ghost images on the same sheet? That would point to the toner also. If the toner is not the problem, it may be the fuser. They get toner on them and when the fuser roll turns, it deposits images on the paper.

Try to print a demo page to rule out link problem, press and hold the stop button for 3 seconds, see if that works

Hey there thedeligirl,

It does sound like hardware problem. If the hardware is 4 yrs old, and the people at Epson recommend you go with a new printer, then it may be time to head to wal-mart =).

The only thing I could suggest, is run some kind of calibration, or "clean headers" option on the printer.
