Hello>> I have this Belkin N1Vision wireless router ever since feb. 2008. It worked fine up until yesterday.. then it got into a loop trying to re-start . The boot up bar goes to aprox. 20% and then re-start againg in a loop.. If I use the reset button on the back , after 10 seconds it freezes and shows this message.."dowload mode..." any advise..???

Thanks to Ramboin and Pyledriver for your reply..

However, the real problemen have to to do with the fact that if I use the "reset button" instead of producing the factory setting, it freezes and shows the message "download mode..." on the router screen..

As far as the power socket , I also tried changing it and did not work anyway....

I guess this is someting more complicated that just pressing one button, but thanks for your comments..

Make sure that power cable is is connected properly i.e power switch is stable in the power socket ?? otherwise you will have to reset the settings by using reset button.

Hi,
Have you tried plugging other devices into the same USB port? Try this to determine if the problem is with the port.

Belkin wireless adapter

Sometimes wireless phones will interfere with the signals. If the router or PC is anywhere near a phone, it might have a problem. I have one wireless network card that gives me fits like that. I have yet to get a PC working with it. I have other wireless cards that work fine. I also switched to 5GHz phones, which helped my old laptop. Check to make sure there's not a conflict with the encryption used by either the dell or the router.

Unable to reset a Belkin Wireless N F5D8236-4v1 back to default

That is indeed strange. Holding in the reset button should definitely clear the wireless router memory. Are you sure that you're going to the right administration page to configure the router? It should be something like 192.168.1.1.

Also... by any chance are there other wireless networks nearby? I'm wondering if your computer accidentally connected to that while the wireless router was off... and now you're going to the wrong router.

If none of that works, try leaving the router unplugged for about five minutes. The volatile memory shouldn't last much longer than that.

My computer doesnt seem to be working with my Belkin router. I have yahoo sbc and my modem works fine, but once I connect it to the router it can't make a connection

I use a belkin wireless adaptor for connecting my PC to the wireless router of trendnet, i observed that belkin adaptor does not work with standard windows wireless networking , i downloaded a separate suite provide by belkin for the purpose and voila- even my 8 yr old son and now reconnect if connection is broken :)

Trying to hook up belkin wireless router to cable modem and don't know how the hook-up should be

Hello,

If you have your pc connected directly to your broadband modem through the ETH/LAN port on your pc then disconnect it from that port on your PC.

Then connect the same cable to your Belkin Routers Internet/WAN port. Then take the extra cable that came with the Belkin router and connect it to 1 of the 4 lan ports on the Belkin router. Then connect the other end to your PC in the LAN port.

After that, restart your PC and everything should be fine.

Thanks

Hi charisa12, before losing your temper pl delete the driver for wireless adapter and try to reload the OEM driver if possible, it may work fine.
