Question about Sharp Aquos LC-46D62U 46 in. LCD HDTV

Left speaker on sharp LC46D62U blown/not working

When playing a DVD, I have put the HDTV on max volume and since then the left speaker is not working. The TV sound is very weak only a few sound bytes coming from the right?

My questions are:

How to replace the speakers? it is DIY work?

There are a few speaker sets being sold on ebay - these are pull outs from old sets - can they be used for repair?

Thanks.

1ST YOU MIGHT WANT TO CONFIRM IT IS THE SPEAKER. IF YOU HAVE A HEADPHONE JACK ON THE SET PLUG INTO IT. IF THE LEFT SPEAKER IS STILL WEAK THEN YOU WILL HAVE TO REPLACE THE AV BOARD IN THE SET.

I am having problems with my speakers in n my vehicle. Can you make any suggestions?

Sounds like u may have a loose or poorly connected speaker wire.. some times installers use electrical tape witch can come off or cause issues..I would check all speakers independently withe the balance and fade options on the deck, then find the ones affected and then check wiring to them , if all wiring connections are good, then u may have blown a speaker.. if you had brand new speakers install you could have blown the voice coil by amplifying the volume too loud too fast...
Most speakers have a Break-in Point.. meaning not to put speakers at max volume for the first few days..

The sound in the left speaker goes on and off on rough road. turn the volume up to max it works. Turn down 2-3 and no sound

IS A LOOSE WIRE CONNECTION TO THIS SPEAKER ---- WHEN ON FULL VOLUME THE HIGHER CURRENT COMING TO THE SPEAKER KEEPS IT PLAYING .......
CHECK THE CONNECTION ON THE BACK OF THE SPEAKER ---- MAYBE UNHOOK AND RECONNECT AGAIN ......... IF NOTHING CHECK THIS SPEAKER CONNECTION AT THE
STEREO REAR .............. YOU WILL FIX THIS

When I plug my Onkyo receiver in it turns on and off on its own in intrevals of about one second. Is this a bad power supply or something else?

follow these steps:
*disconnect everything from the unit (treat it as if you just got it out of the box) no speaker wires no cables.
* turn on the unit and max the volume (w/o anything connected)
*if the unit shuts off during step 2 you need to send it in for service (go to onkyousa.com for the nearest service center)
*if it didn't shut off during step 2 you need to play the tuner and connect one speaker at a time.
EXAMPLE: connect your left speaker and then play the FM and then max the volume for about 2 seconds then turn it down.
if you were successful in maxing out the volume on the left speaker continue with the other speakers until you isolate w/c speaker is causing the issue. if your gonna ask why the FM...its because its a direct playing source but you can still use a cd player or a tape deck to try it out.

take note: if your receiver shuts down on a speaker that you have connected make sure to have that speaker checked or better yet replace it.

Speaker Problems

Can you swap speakers and see if the left working speaker works when plugged into the right output?

If it does, then your right speaker is bad or the right speaker cable/plug may be bad.

If the working left speaker doesn't work on the right output, then I would suspect a problem in the right channel audio amplifier.

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance to you.

Good luck!

Left Speaker Problem

Sounds like the left channel in the built-in amplifier went out or possibly damage in the connector or cabling. Quick test to eliminate the PC is to connect another set of working speakers or headphones into the PC speaker jack without making any changes. If it works w/o problems then it?s the speakers. You can try plugging the speakers back into your PC and while playing something start wiggling the left channel cables and the main cable that goes into the PC. In particular pay attention to stress points like connectors. If that turns up nothing and you have the appropriate tools and skills you can open the speakers up and test out the solder points for the cables as well. As always make sure your warranty has expired completely before you open them up or start cutting away. Let us know if you have any other questions and please don?t forget to rate this post.
