The SB6121 link light uses color to indicate the connection speed. Blinking means data transfer is taking place. Blue means that it's a 1000Base-T (High-speed Gigabit Ethernet). Amber means it's an older ethernet device. 100Base-T or 10Base-T Ethernet connection.

SOURCE: "Send" and "Receive" lights are flashing on the modem

This is a sign of a bad modem already, but you can still try to fix this by doing a firmware upgrade on the unit and you can get the firmware from the manufacturers web site and then if still have the same problem have it replace....

You need to disable the UPnP function on the Belkin router. Log into the router(192.168.2.1), and look under System Settings. If you haven't changed the password on the router, the default password is blank, i.e., no password.

SOURCE: i cant get my motorola sb5101 surf board cable

I have a similar problem. The common denominator seems to be the SB5101. I have a brand new Belkin Surf 300N, same issue. The modem will not give DHCP to the router. I can connect fine via ethernet to the modem directly.
This modem seems to be a dinosaur.

How do I find the bridge mode in sb6121

The Motorola Surfboard SB6121 is a cable modem only - no router included.

You must have a router - after the modem - in the network if you need router duties.

There is no bridge mode in the modem. Bridging the modem basically bypasses the routing function of the device and passes everything on to the next device in line......the router in this case.

Since this modem does not have a router built in - it is always in bridge mode.

And orange bliking light came on what does it mean

If your belkin wireless router is flashing orange, it more than likely means it was hit by a power surge or got wet and popped the circuit on the mother board of the router. Took mine apart and found where the circuit had been blackened by power surge hitting it. I was able to salvage one important thing was the antenna that can be adapted to other systems if you know what your doing.

Blinking amber light on modem icon

that means there is usually a problem with your modem. you know how to hook up a router, right? usually you unplug power from both devices, plug in your modem and let it load, then plug in your router. (with some isp's id will work the other way around.
