When starting windows press f8 key before the windows logo shows up > go to safe mode > click start>control panel> display>adapter>list all modes> choose 800x600 x 16 colours > apply > close > reboot to normal xp. OR When f8 key pressed > choose VGA mode. If this does not work then change the VGA Cable (borrow from someone if its TFT to test)

Monitor displays Msg. frequency out of range, screen is black

Start your computer and press the F8 when the manufacturer's logo screen is showing. This will bring you to the Windows startup menu. Pick "start in VGA mode" and windows will start up with video settings you monitor can handle. Then you can change your video settings so Windows will start normally with your monitor.

I have a Dell GX60 and I changed the display resolution and

So, with The computer, completely turned off, Turn it on, Can't you see the BIOS screen? , or a Dell LOGO?

It is when you see this BIOS or Dell logo Screen that you Need to:
  • PRESS F8
  • Press F8
  • Press F8, again, and again right when your computer turns on.
Then You should be brought to the Window that allows you to boot into SAFE MODE, DO NoT PICK SAFE MODE.

Pick: ------------ENABLE VGA (basically safe mode) Only!.

Once booted, log in and change the resolution to let's say 800x600,
then restart your computer normally.

You should then be able run windows normally, (Without F8 Key) where you can then change the resolution to what you want.

IMPORTANT! Remember this, if you set your display to a resolution that it Does Not

support, and the screen goes blank. DO Not Turn off your computer: ALL YOU DO IS PRESS

the (Esc) ESCAPE Key within 15 Seconds and your monitor's resolution will be set to it's

previous state again.

I Hope This Helps.

Input not supported icon shows up

Is there a reset, restore button on the monitor? If so, press it.
If this doesn't solve the problem, start Windows in Safe Mode by pressing on the F8 key as it is booting. When you get the black & white menu, choose safe mode. You should be able to change the resolution to a really generic one (like 600 x 800) here to allow you to start over.
You may have set the refresh rate incorrectly in the display screen, too.

No Display - Screen says "NOT SUPPORTED"

Turn your computer on.
When the boot screen cahnges to black start pressing F8
You should get a Windows startup screen
If you see the Windows Logo loading page, then hit the reset button and tray again.
On the Windows Start page, select Safe mode.
Press enter twice and Windows will load
Go into display properties (right click on the desktop and you will see it on the menu)
A box will pop up, select the last tab (Display Properties) there will be a slider on the left side. Move it left to around 800x600.
Select apply and then close the window.
Restart Windows normally and it should be fine.

If not, post back and we will try something else.
Hope it helps =)

On Pwr up logo appears then LCD returns to stanby Black screen

I will assume the monitor is staying on during the boot process all the way until Windows loads.
If that is the case, then...
  • Start the computer
  • wait until the initial bios/logo screens for your motherboard go away.
  • Press F8 to get the Windows recovery boot menu
  • If you see the Windows Logo you would normally see then press rest and try again.
  • In the recovery screen, select SAFE MODE
  • Boot into Windows and uninstall your video card.
  • Reboot the computer the normal way through the start menu.
  • When your PC starts back up it should then reinstall the video card, and set itself automatically back to 60khz as default.
Let me know how you go =)
