Question about ASUS P4P800-E Deluxe Motherboard

1 Answer

I get a message over the speakers System failure from CPU overclo

I turned on my Asus P4P 800-E deluxe 3.20 Gb Compt with 1 GB ram 200 GB SATA HD this morning and got an audio message (System Failure due to CPU overclocking),I turned it off and on again and got another audio message that said (System failure due to CPU system input or PPU system input, (It will not boot up at all ) couldn't quite understand the second message. I have NOT made any changes to the computer. Does this sound like a major problem that I need to bring in for repairs or can I do it myself. I have the machine about 3 yrs and have not made any changes to it. I would appreciate any help I can get.

Tried what you said, left the battery out for 1 hr, didn't work, but thanks for the try! Any other ideas? Could it be the memory? or do you think the CPU is dead!

Tried cleaning the memory, didn't work, The audio message that I'm getting sounds like it says System Fail PP Impass. Does that make any sense?

Hi there
Try resetting the CMOS either by removing the battery from the motherboard for 20 mins and make sure the power cord is removed from the back of the machine. When you put the battery back you will have to set the time and date again

Good luck and kind regards

    Hi again
Yes it could be the memory, its not the CPU as the machine starts up, take the memory out, clean the contacts and reseat the memory again see if that sorts the problem

Asus A8V-E not start

Looking at this post, I think your Motherboard is bad.
Have you tried a different Video Card?
My other thought is the CPU is overheating due to incorrect seating of the FAN and heat sink.
Try cleaning the CPU off, and put new paste on the CPU, then re-seat the heat sink.
Be careful to make sure the anchors are pushed all the way down by slightly twisting or wiggling the heat sink.
Check for looseness.
Push down on all memory sticks to ensure they are seated all the way in.
They should click on both sides.
If it still gives you a red light, then contact the website of the manufacturer, and get an RMA number for a replacement.

2nd sata connected and xp won't boot

Hi,
It seems you have not made the second SATA the slave of first SATA. You'll have to fix the jumper pin in the designated slot to make the second SATA the slave. a1d66e3.jpg

Same problem, but not solved

Matias,
Please remove the jumper on the SATA drive. Boot to the bios & see if the SATA drive is listed. If it is you're good. If this is the first SATA you have tried in the Asus board & my suggestion also failed to show the SATA drive you are left with two options.
One the SATA drive is defective or the SATA motherboard controller is bad. You can call Asus tech M-F 8:00AM to 5:00PM EDT. At 1-812-282-2787, there is little wait time when calling Asus tech. Asus does not charge you for calling them.
