You can use Norton or Macafee antivirus software which are very well known and widely use ,I will suggest Norton,
but update the Virus definations before running scan and delete the impacted files if those are not system files or imp files.

Let me know in case of any issue
Enable boot scan also in system Bios.

Hi there
It depends on the type of virus which has been let loose on your your machine, if its a high risk and destructive virus for example Win32 virus there is nothing much that you can do! If you just caught the virus there may be something you can do to clean the machine although i must warn you that this will only be a temporary fix because it will return within a week or so (maybe even earlier)
Try AVG8 Free and Spybot search and destroy, both of these antivirus and antispy software are completely free!!! just google them both and download and run them, this may resolve the problem for a while. I would however back up all of your data just in case the virus is not removed

Good luck and kind regards

My computer is acting strange, it is constanly freezing and i am constanly having to restart it. it is very very slow also. will resetting it to factory settings fix this, if so how do i do it?

if the problem is a software related one, then it's better if you first go through some best practices for ensuring PC security from virus and malware infection. See if this solves the problem. Usually going through these best practices will solve any slowdowns or freezeups... of course, assuming these freezeups aren't a result of a program you recently installed. If you can pinpoint the time when your computer became unstable, and this coincides with a program you installed, then you'll have to uninstall the program and that should solve your freezeups problem.
If it doesn't, you may be facing a FSB controller chip failure, that controls the work of the PC. See if your laptop has some symptoms of motherboard failure due to FSB chip issues.
The motherboard repair is the last option, so make sure you eliminate the software potential problems like virus infections or any programs and updates you recently installed.

How do I repair poor response in a computer?

Try these operations:
- do a virus check to make sure your system is virus-free - if it is virus-free, do a disk defragmant and run the ScanDisk utility - if this doesn't solve your problem, do a system restore to an earlier point in time, when you knew it was working fine

This may be due to virus. All those what you can do is, first scan for virus, 1. If you find virus kill it.
2. Go to properties and uncheck the read, write checkboxes.

Hp m705 display-menu flickering..

Don't worry, and not be taken aback by a virus. It is a problem which I am myself facing, it is a problem seen in rainy season in which the curcuits of the monitor get rust and pads get pressed. Replace it by new components. Heating the monitor ( by bulb being hanged aside ) may solve the problem.

Use a good anti-virus software. There are many free ones, like the very popular AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition. Also, the Avast! Home Edition and Windows Defender are great. You can also try the Microsoft Windows Maliculous Software Removal Tool.

The downloads are available at CNET and the last one is a special program available only at the Microsoft Download Center. It has to be downloaded, used and then removed from the PC. It is updated every month, so you need to make sure that you use it every month after downloading from the site.

To prevent damage, later on you must have backups of the files on your PC, either on hard disks or DVDs. You can use a back-up software like the preloaded Windows Backup and Restore Center available in Windows Vista. You can also copy your important software and data manually onto these media.

Don't backup now, or you are going to backup the virus too (if it is really there) and waste your time. Remember, the virus cannot do anything while the computer is switched off.
