Computer Restart again and again - ASUS P5LD2-VM Motherboard

Posted by on

  • abby99 Mar 12, 2009

Computer usually boots up fine, runs from 5 minutes to several hours and then reboots by itself for no apparent reason. Installed a new hard drive, 2 more GB of RAM, ruled out power supply and overheating.
It will run indefinitely when booting from a Linux CD though.
There doesn't seem to be any particular pattern and it doesn't matter what I'm working on, if anything.
I have run every possible diagnostic that I can think of.

Remove the cmos battery from the motherboard for at least 1 hour then replace , if it continues to reboot it may also be your hard disk or os causing it

try to clean boot your computer.
  • on safe mode, click start > run > type msconfig
  • you have several tabs there, go on Startup tab, click on Disable All button
  • go to Service tab, it's on the right of Startup tab, put a check mark on "Hide all Microsoft services". make sure you have a check mark there. then click on Disable all button.
  • click on Ok
  • the computer will ask you if you want to restart or exit without restart, restart the computer
  • when you see your desktop after restarting, put a check mark on "Don't show this message again"
  • observe the computer if it will still freeze.

Ulead movie factory 6.o I cannot overcome a relink message any ideas please

Do you have the Ulead program on disk?

Go to Start>Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs, and remove Ulead. If asked to restart your computer, do so. If not, close all windows until you are back to your desktop scree, and restart your computer. (Windows XP: Start>Turn Off Computer>Restart)

After Windows boots back up again, and all your Start Menu programs, reinstall Ulead again.
